Dealer Allocation Question, for the BMW sales guys

I would really appriciate a truthful answer.

Can a salesman at a BMW store see the allocations that other dealers have recieved. If so, please PM me or email me at afriedman@cpisolutions.com

Thanks guys

Im not a salesman but I am pretty sure dealers can look at all the orders in the U.S. At least that was the case with my dealer. Then again i could be wrong.

Interesting that no one from this forum knows the answer. I'm almost certain that dealers can search the BMW database and see other dealers inventory and allocations. I was just looking for someone to confirm what my dealer is telling me on allocations.

I'm being told they've only got one that went to Tom Selleck, and I'm next in line. It's just hard to believe based on the fact that another similar dealer in So Cal has already received four.

No much I can do, just curious

I can't answer your specific question about whether a dealer can see another dealer's allocations. However, I know dealers can see in their systems all of the vehicles of a particular model that have been produced up until the point of customer delivery. When I was looking for my 2009 E60 M5 to replace my 2006, I sat with my salesman and looked at all of the cars that were in production or on the boat to the US. We could see all the details (VIN, colors, options, etc.), which dealer it was being delivered to, and whether or nold it was sold.

It would take some work, but in theory you could get another dealer to check the M5 inventory log and scan for you particular dealer. If they have more than one car listed then you would have your answer.

They don't know each others allocation, but they can see the car in production etc up until it gets delivered to a customer. They often trade each other for other rides etc.
