Carlos hits the nail on the head with the 'greater than the sum of it's parts' perspective. CP seems overpriced, however, I wouldn't want an F10 M5 without it.

I do not agree that there is no noticeable difference in ride quality; the primary is improved by the car being firmer with a slight degradation in secondary. Overall still comfortable though, somewhat inherent from the long wheelbase.

Surely SO isn't that red in real life?

ahhhhh no …. he's looking for this … the GTS … no fake stereo engine sound required with this car nor the E9X M3!

Id prefer paying more for the car and having it come stock with as much potential as possible. In my oppinion, the m performance parts lines are stupid. I understand they wanna sell, but people buying these cars would rather be getting the total package from factory. What they need to do, is further separate their sub brands ie. M sport and ///M...lets see a bigger gap!

I agree - it should be standard

So a $93K car and you need to spend another $7,300 to make it handle the way it should. That's just wrong.

^^ Not everyone yearns for the improvements of the CP. Stock F10 seems to be ample, but some people just want an edge. Same with the brakes, why not make the CCB standard? CCBs shine at the track, but not everyone tracks their F10. It really depends on what you expect from the car.
