P00BC Code

OK Fellow members, so last night driving home from the Gym I ended up with a engine light. Couldn't find anything on the idrive so I took it to Autozone this morning to get the code scanned. It came out as P00BC, could this be related to my recently installed RPI GT Catback Exhaust? Is the exhaust leaking somewhere?

The weird thing is the engine light is no longer on.

Is this something I should be worried about?

Alright guys, was driving home last night and out of nowhere the engine light just came back on.

Anyone else having issues with this after installing the exhaust? Could this be caused by a leak in the RPI exhaust somewhere?

I looks like a common problem with all that installed RPI GT Catback Exhaust.. a friend of mine had the same problem and it was a troublesome OBDII system..

You need to plug the vacuum lines that they unplugged when they installed the mufflers. Look under the rear bumper, you'll probably see some rubber lines hanging there.

What do you mean troublesome OBDII system?
Last night I went to get the codes pulled again and it's still showing the same codes but this time there was 2 turbo codes.

Codes pulled:
P00BE
P0242
P00BC
P0171
P0238

I already checked my Gruppe M intake and MAF sensor and everything is clean and tight.

All this started happening after the RPI GT Exhaust was installed...

I pulled it with a golf tee and zip tell on each side.
Last night went the extra mile to buy the vacuum hose cap kit with c-clamps to to see maybe if that will help.

Understood but these has to be all related to the exhaust, I never had these issues before. Will a JB4 fix this?
I'm at a lost here... really getting tired of the engine codes and car feeling sluggish compared to the OEM exhaust before.

It probably has something to do with the increase in airflow through the engine. I would reset all of the fault codes and let the engine adapt to the new flow. Hopefully it will go away on its own.

Double check the vacuum lines in the rear exhaust for leaks.

I dont know if there is a ground wire with the RPI exhaust. I know my Turner muffler deletes had grounding wires. I mean, if you've plugged the vacuum lines, then your car should not feel sluggish.

It's weird, when the weather's warm and the engine light is on. The car feels sluggish in efficient mode and wakes up in Sport Plus but Sport Plus only feels as torque as Efficient when the car had oem exhaust if that makes sense.

Overall it feels like i lost a lot of lower end torque on the car, I used to be able to throw passenger and myself to the back of the seat with stock exhaust.

The difference between Efficient Mode and Sport+ is pretty dramatic in terms of power and throttle response.

You shouldn't have lost any power. I'd still recommend clearing the fault codes and let the car adapt.

Make sure to check 100% of the vacuum lines in the rear, maybe one of the lines got damaged/torn/ripped/cut during the removal. Most of the time when people loose power it's from a vacuum leak.

I'll put the vacuum hose caps on with the c clamps and report back. Hopefully this will solve the problem.

I've never had one issue w my Rpi exhaust. And I have 80k+ miles using mine. It has to be something you did not install correctly. There is No ground wire. Check vac hose and and fitting that goes to your dp

well, my point was that the OBD II system must detect any collapse in the converter`s efficiency (if the converter was contaminated/ having troubles like some leaky exhaust valves or troublesome ignition misfiring) .. momos750 has a point, perhaps you should try to reset the codes

thanks for the input guys, I will try recap the vacuum hose that controls the exhaust flaps and if that doesn't help then I will go ahead and check the connection from DP to Exhaust.

The code has been coming on and off, yesterday it just went off and I went to the local auto store to see if any code still pulls out. Even though the light is off, the same codes are still pulling.

The guy there hinted that it has to be the MAF sensor, i'm beginning to think maybe it's my Gruppe M intake that's causing this? too much oil on the filter (K&N)?

Can i clean the sensors? or just swap back to stock intake?

Did you have the other codes come up?

So I have this same code. Have had my RK intake and Turner delete since summer. I am getting P00BC now. Everything is tight and capped. I guess my MAF sensors are dead.

Hey I'm having the same issue after installing an RK intake on my F10 M5.

did you find a solution? Was it just a bad sensor?
