Disappointed? Wow...this is a tough crowd!

For me there is so much win...really loving the sound! And the car just seems so planted at those speeds that the camera shots were steady!

I see. BMW should revise that. When you're invoking launch control, chances are you care about what speed you're hitting.

Yeah, because a speedometer is always 100% accurate?

Exactly. Speedos necessarily display higher speed than real (GPS verified) speed.

So 315 km/h on the speedo was probably around 305 km/h in reality, depending on how the speedo was programmed.

I went up to 308 km/h once with my car, which was 295 km/h GPS, before running out of straight road.

In any case, the opportunities where you can use speeds of that magnitude are limited, even in Germany.

It must be slower because of where the power is. Because I noticed when it changed down to 7th the speed shot up
where In that video did he shift to 7th?!

Much longer gears than the E60. No need to stick it up in the rev band anymore.

There is nothing to pass here. Just buy the "M Drivers package" and the 250 kph limit will be raised to 280 kph (which is 300 kph on the odo in my M3) after the break in.

I have taken the training one year after I get the M3. So the 3K for the raise of the limit and the training is just to make more money and not to protect the driver from driving 30 kph more than 250. I am quite sure if something happens, you will have a problem with 250 and with 280 also...

BTW: The M5 is so a nice car. I like especially the sound if the throttle is released. I hear it in any video, and it gives me Goosebumps (is this English?) every time I hear it...

Top speed has more to do with aerodynamics than with power.

Hope you guys realize that

The cw of the e60 5 series (non M) is 0.26
The cw of the F10 5 series (non M) is 0.28

I'm sure the M versions will carry forward this trend. At high speeds, this small difference might have a large effect. Also, the cw has to be multiplied with the frontal area, and since the F10 is bigger, this has an even larger effect.

Cheers,

CSL

Your english is just fine. "Goosebumps" is the right term/slang for what you're describing.

The M5 is such a nice car that I want one too, but it's a little to large for me. I'll take the M3 instead! Now THAT is a nice car!

hmm, why is not camera shaking? I live here in germany, and driving on autobahns, at those speeds the car is not that smooth....

plus, only 200? really? I would expect 220... i'm pretty sure skyline (modded) can hit that.
