Maxium Drivetrain Output Malfunction

I got that malfunction message and the related effects a few weeks ago. I had more than half a tank of gas. It happened with a couple minutes of taking the car out one day. I shifted everything into sport plus/aggressive modes and then stepped on it and it immediately happened. I thought it was the drivetrain as my friend received a similar message on his 650 and had to replace his drivetrain. However, I pulled over, turned everything off and waited for about 5 minutes and when I started the car back up it was gone and the message hasn't appeared again.

I had this issue on my X5M with a tune..the dealer changed the misfiring cylinders and the problem was fixed for good..the M5 is going strong so far

Car has been running for over 5,000 miles with this tune (no piggybag), no cell, no limp mode, no problems. I did have problems with Manhart and PP Performance tunes (piggybags). We can and always will argue about dyno results. All I know is that I ran a vbox from 62 - 125 mph in 6.2 seconds. That is faster than a lot of supercars. The car hits the speed limiter in 6th gear at 328 kmh (204 mph) indicated so easily, it is ridiculous. I ran against an Aventador from 70mph - 140 mph and my M5 was faster.

Leib showed me 746bhp at the crank and PP Performance showed me 791 bhp. From 62 - 125 mph the Leib tune was 0.5 seconds faster.

I was present when all settings were made for my car by Dominik including weighing of the car. I am convinced that at least on my car it is legit.

Drivetrain Malfunction during alittle spirited driving with a GT3 today. Not happy.... Any solid ideas I can give my SA so they don't fumble around and waste my time???

Replace your coils and plugs, gap the plugs to .20. Most tuned (includes just filters and exhausts) can through the DMF warning, this seems to fix most especialy those with tunes.

No mods and thanks for the insight gents. Wasn't even pushing it hard, as I accelerated it felt like the car was hesitating and then boom, limp mode....Sucks.
