M5 Snubbed by Burger?
The M3/M4 has barely been released and Burger has already developed a JB4 box for it?? Does it seem like the M5 was snubbed with a less advanced box?? I am just asking. Why does the car not deserve a JB4? It would also be nice to control the maps with a remote instead of going into the engine compartment with a USB cable and a laptop.

The M4 S55 ECU is very similar to the N55 , thus the same CAN setup and why it worked day one . The S63 TU has a unique dual ECU setup and a more complex CAN system which makes it a LOT more work . If you want full fueling and timing control from a piggyback on the M5/6 you are stuck with DINAN currently and their nearly 4 k price tag .

On Dinan It will be interesting to see some dynojet runs, trap speeds, and logs from Dinan's setup. If history is any indication they won't be impressive but someone here should take the dive and fill us all in. AFAIK Dinan has never claimed timing control. Only fuel biasing. Which the Stage1 has also on BMS' development car. For various reasons including difficult install and no real world benefit observed it never made it in to production. Mike |
