Help !!!!!!! Aircon went mad on fan speed
All of a sudden today . When I start the car I heard a loud fan noise ( like a hair dryer noise )
Realised it's from rear air con . It goes to max and blow max air at max fan speed .... And then it goes back to normal I timed it and it comes and go every 17 seconds Yes this totally sounds insane but I didn't touch anything basically the fan speed goes mad every 17 seconds What the heck is happening |

No kidding around, mine did the exact same thing this morning. I changed settings on the AC, turned it from Auto back to Manual, and tried several other things, but the rear AC continued to max blow every 17 seconds (Im assuming mine was 17 seconds as well, but I didn't count). I eventually had to turn the AC completely off. So very strange.

From the idrive I believe under settings you can change the climate settings. If memory serves, you can select rear climate setting and set it to match driver's setting.
I just picked up my X5 last week after having a routine regular scope maintenance check-up. I guess checking the AC was part of this inspection because when they brought the vehicle around and I got in, the rear AC was blasting. I went into the idrive and switched it to be the same as driver's setting and the fan returned to normal. I'm sure the M5 has a similar setting.
