I was thinking the same thing. Maybe it takes days to wade through the terms and conditions required to be a vendor.
too busy working on the Ferrari LOL

Releasing our F8x intakes this week!

They will be carbon fiber with the same design as the M5 intakes.

Took a while to become a vendor, my account was locked while i waited. Sorry for that delay, now that we're a vendor you'll notice we don't miss any post.

Raza didn't fair much better with us X5M guys. He said he wanted to create a CF intake for us as well, in my excitement I sent him plenty of pics of mine, but he wanted to scan someones car in person. He borrowed someone's X5M for two weeks in an attempt to do 3D scans to release their own intake, then was supposed to install downpipes and a tune. Two weeks later this guy got his truck back with an engine bay full of stickers, no downpipes or tune for a BMW car show he wanted to goto with Raza having excuses of someone else was supposed to do the install as he moved from NYC to Jersey or something like that. His own boss/shop he shared a space with said he takes on too much, is a dreamer but most importantly has poor follow through...don't borrow someone's car for two weeks if you know you're going to move and then pass the buck.

Whoa whoa, far from the whole truth.

These intakes are being 3d printed this week, i told the owner he'd have them by end of the week, just like originally promised(a week before Mpact on the 16th). Told him the downpipes would be a bonus but don't count on it by the 16th. Never did i take any money from him, drive his car, or anything of that nature. Car was scanned and sat in the parking lot in the condition it came in, minus a few stickers. Those stickers were also left on there for a reason, once the prototypes came in they were going to be used for reference points. They weren't left there out of laziness.

Car showed up, had a blown high pressure hose. The owner was going to install the hose himself, car sat for a week waiting on the owner(he was out of town). The owner then got the hose in and came by the shop, i diagnosed for him that his hose was the wrong one (did not bill him for that, his BMW tech had diagnosed the original hose wrong). Out of courtesy i said i would install it, then it took the owner another 3-4 days to get the hose. I picked the hose up for him out of courtesy. So the car was at the shop for 2 weeks waiting on the hose, waiting on the owner.

I told him he could pickup the car once it was tuned. The shop dropped the ball on installing the pipe and tuning is out of my control. If the owner of the shop had said he was not going to install the pipe, i'll say it again, i would have done it myself. That was not the case, the owner of the shop like countless other projects, didn't deliver like he said he would. That is why i left, i was there for 3 weeks and saw nothing getting done. I wanted no part in that and left before it got ugly.

I tried contacting the owner of the car to discuss a solution, he doesn't want to. My offer still stands, I never promised the tune being my responsibility, you bring in a 100% running car and the car gets tuned, car came in with issues. I promised a set of intakes at cost (which i said wouldn't be in carbon, would be prototypes for the car show, final set a few weeks after the show) and a set of downpipes sometime after the show because those can't just be printed and take longer to make.

I'm not going to sit around and let my name or company name be slandered. If the owner of the car has concerns, he's welcome to call me. I called and left text messages. To be upset your car sat for 2 weeks because you were waiting on parts, then being upset because parts aren't done when the deadline is a week away, is unreasonable. Nobody mentions any of those details though, they just point out they didn't get what they wanted, nor mention the deadline hasn't come yet and are upset before the deadline?

If i've done something wrong, i have no problem owning up to it, please let me know. But to ignore phone calls and text messages, then being upset, is very unreasonable, then go telling others a story that's half truth.

2 weeks since i've left the shop, I've finished our M4 intakes, X5M intakes, CLS63AMG intakes, and 550i intakes. Only 1 thing changed, where i'm working, that's not a coincidence.

Thanks
-R

Raza you mentioned above you are making intakes for the 550i. What year car is it?
Do you have any pics or details of the new intakes?

Quick question. I am curious if I would see the same or any gains with your intakes if I am running stock down pipes and exhaust?

Similarly, would there be any benefit to adding an exhaust (full axle back or just muffler delete) and keeping the DP's stock?

I do have Dinan Stage 1 and looking to move to Stage 2. Thanks for your help.

The filters are just K&N filters which you can order from K&N's website.

The intake performance gain is stand alone, doesn't matter what other mods you have if your induction system is stock. We stand behind our numbers when compared to stock intake systems.

The downpipes are not needed unless you are running an aggressive tune. The only "performance" benefit with downpipes is when you exceed catalytic temps. You will cook the stock cats with majority of these tunes out there. The flow characteristics of the cat only yield 3-5whp benefit if you don't have a tune. The real benefit is not having a catalytic convertor you're going to melt, clog the system, over-temp the turbo, and then it gets pricey.

Same logic applies to the rest of the exhaust system, from factory, the exhaust system on these cars is VERY refined in terms of flow. Lean manufacturing is the M-O at the OEM level, less restriction = more flow = less material = win/win for an OEM.

If you don't have the tune that exceeds or tampers with cat temps, you don't need downpipes. If you do have a tune that will cook the cats, you have to have downpipes.

I hope that clears things up, if you want a higher level understanding on the ECU side and the right questions to ask, you can find the company number and i'll most likely answer. I don't mind chatting about it if you're interested in learning what's going on.
