New Ford GT performance numbers revealed by Ford

Very impressive considering it's the same engine as in a F-150. Lol!

The prelim price 1-2 years ago was 450k, quoted in the articles I read.

Looks almost perfect to me other than the Mickey Mouse satnav. 4.8 out of 5 rating. 5 being the highest possible score.

Awaiting M4 coupes and Kermit reviews.

Yeah because F1 isn't V6. Don't limit yourself with false beliefs.

But the article says V6! .... What I'm missing here?

Ford's claiming 647 horses and 550 lb-ft of torque from the GT's 3.5-liter EcoBoost twin-turbo V6. As a reminder, the GT uses the same aluminum engine block as the 3.5-liter EcoBoost you can get in the Ford F-150, among other products. All that twin-turbo power motivates a vehicle with a dry curb weight of 3054 lbs. to a top speed of 216 mph.

Msiss said car should be 8.
UL said not so much. F1 has 750 hp 6s.

Cylinders don't mean jack.

Output does.

All my opinion.

obviously f1 is a purpose built engine who has to follow certain rules, but when spending 400k on a car the engine is a part of the prestige. Lambo has hung on to there v12 for there halo car, all the other Italians have a minimum of a v8. If bmw made a 600hp 4cy m5/m6 I don't believe you guys would say it wouldn't matter, especially if a 1 series used the same engine. Im sorry I don't want a ford gt to share an engine with a f150. I can post videos of a ton of 5-700hp evos and sti's, i refuse to believe you guys think thats the same as our flagship engines regardless of output

American sports cars have a certain heritage and that includes having a v8. how about a v6 vette??? How much attention do we give v6 mustangs/camaros regardless of how they are modded. We live in the day of boost so really any engine can make power but it means more than that with a halo car thats 400k

I never said that you are misquoting me, I said a 6cylinder in that car is a problem, there are lots of amazing 6 cylinder cars like gtr's,911tt,m3 etc. But the halo car in the American line up should be a v8 imo. Lots of different size motors can make power these days because of forced induction but again I am just talking about heritage, character, and prestige not just performance. v6 camaros and mustangs are viewed as a joke and lots of boosted versions of them are running around making all sorts of power. Heck we have years worth of debate on out own forums with the n54 crowd vs the m3 crowd, throw enough boost at the n54 and it can make all the power but doesnt make it a m3

No way GT will be a special car, and the will sell close to 1M on the open market. Look at the 2005 for sale these cars trade at a premium. This is one of the most difficult cars to get now no matter how much cash you have. Seen it person this thing is gorgeous.

Well as an investment or business you can have it but my point was about comparing two cars side by side. I pick Aventador all day ...
