BPM Sport Tune Review

Hello all,

Don't post here at all but I'm a faithful lurker.

This week I decided to tune my 14 M5. After shopping around and based on other reviews I decided on Mike @ BPM.
After contacting him Via email he responded promptly with a CALL to discuss what I wanted. After a few phone calls we ironed out the particulars and the DME's were off.

My M5 already had AMS down pipes and filters so I wasn't expecting that "WOW" factor from the tune. Boy was I wrong.
I'm not a add intake and then "holy hell" kinda of car guy. My other rides are a 1k WHP camaro and a bolt on E60 M5. I am used to HP.
With that said, the car is silly quick but what's more impressive is the power delivery. It's a wall of smooth POWA!!!
I did not love my F10 because it never gave me the V10 howl but I can honestly say that sound aside, this thing is a weapon now.

Thumbs up all across the board.

Congrats! I think really highly of BPM as well. LOVE my tune (even through it's currently turned off for some warranty work).

Are your downpipes catless or catted? I'm assuming stage 2?

Very nice

But 305s wont improve that much; too much torque increase. I did the same tire upgrade after a tune, but am now looking to upgrade AGAIN now that summer is around the corner; possibly R888R....

R888's may not work for me as the F10 will be my new daily.

The BPM tune is a game changer, and as apexlocator said, "too much torque increase" for the 305s. All I can suggest is to use the Michelin Sport Cup 2 in a 305, learn to feel for the grip level with your right foot and deal with the limited mileage the soft rubber will give you.

There is no answer for traction on an F10 M5. Not even with stock torque levels. Not even if you did some sort of stupid wide body kit and were able to mount 355's on the rears. It's always just too much torque!

Too much torque is RELATIVE.

Did you go with Pirelli or MPSS for your 305's?

Ordering tomorrow and even with all the forum conversations I still don't know which tire will be better haha

MPSS. I'm not a fan of Pirelli's.

Amen!!,,, I'm not a fan of Pirelli's either....
I recently got my M6 and it had the Pirelli's on it and it felt like I was driving on ice any speed less than 40.. and the dealer had just put fresh meat on it.... stock sizes, PZero's like it came from the factory with....
I just put M- PSS on front and M-Pilot Cup 2 on back and now the car launches! last night the air was cold (50degrees) and even the MC2's spun a little but nothing as bad as the Pirelli's. I got the 305 MSC2's as a compromise between MPSS and R888's since it's my DD and those MSC2's come stock on Lambo and AMG GT's (I need to be able to drive on wet road).
my wife's CLS AMG came with Pirelli's P Zero's too,,, they were also terrible.. I switched to Conti's (1 size up) and had much better grip

What's wrong with R888's as daily? I know it's no good in wet pavement or when it's below 50 or so degrees but other than that? Curious to know since I recently got some and the difference coming from MPSS traction wise is night and day. Congrats on your tune, I've been going back and forth trying to decide on JB4 or flash myself.

You just answered your own question. It might not drop below 50 consistently where you are. You also might want to consider against a 100 treadwear rating tire for a daily driver as well. Seems like nonsense when the tire is designed for track use.

Also, the whine from R888 is loud. Sounds like a bad diff.

I didn't opt for the R888's because here in Tampa it rains a decent amount of time and I already learned a lesson that could ruin seats in a car. I was daily driving a 750hp Supra on drag radials.... the tread goes away (quickly) without you realizing it and then one day when the road is wet,,, the car decides to do a pirouette while going just 40mph on a straight road.... those R888's look too much like those drag radials to me.

as a side note,,, I'm loving my set up and amazingly the Pilot Sport Cup 2's are not loud.... I was afraid that I would have "loud" tires... but this set up is better than the Pirelli's in the noise department.
