The M5 in that video has the RPi GTM, I can tell by the sound and tone. Although I don't think it has catless downpipes, I could be wrong though.

There are a few blokes running about the UK with the RPi GTM system.

We once tested an E60 M5 with SuperSprint Catless Headers, RPi Section 1 and Section 2 (with resonators) and Corsa Section 3 mufflers against my fully straightpiped F10 M5. The E60 tested at I think 106db and the F10 tested at 123db. The resonators on the E60 do block a lot of the sounds though.

Damn, how far did you record 123 db standing from? A legit thunder clap averages around 120db lol. I need to get me straight pipes ahaha

The massive thunderclaps are the result of the muffler deleted section 3 on the RPi GTM exhaust. Without mufflers, the exhaust flows much faster out through the tips. On my car, I've had cops in DC tell me they thought that there was gun fire going off. Luckily, DC cops are so very cool and I love them. I even almost got one to go for a ride in my M5 once. Lol! The catless downpipes, just makes the thunderclaps 20 times louder.

That level was measured at the tip. It actually gets louder because the rpms are limited to 6,000rpm's when just revving it from a standstill. Getting all the way up to 7,200rpm is louder.

I can attest to the 123db. This was over at Bethesda cars and coffee earlier this year. I think it would've been even louder but the C&C police broke it up.

Don't get me wrong guys, a properly setup E60 M5 is very very loud and orgasmic. When I only had my RPi GT exhaust system on my E60 M5, it was very loud, but when I went full straightpipes on the E60 with the RPi Catless headers combined with the GT exhaust, it was just so extremely loud all of the time. The thing about the NA V10 is that no matter what you do, if you have straightpipes, once over 3,500rpm the loudness is uncontrollable, the engine just screams like a banshee straight out of Hades. With the straightpiped TTV8 of the F10, the turbos still muffle a lot of the sound when NOT on the throttle. Once you start giving the engine more throttle input, the car begins to roar like crazy. I've not had a single problem driving around Virginia with the straightpipes, because I drive it very conservatively, only giving the F10 very light throttle inputs and having the DCT set on D1 mode to keep the revs as low as possible. If I still had my E60 with the straightpipes driving around Virginia, I would have been thrown in jail a long time ago.

lol ^ So when the RPI GTM is non resonated what happens to the sound does it make it louder for the TT V8? just wondering difference between a non res and a res rpi gtm

and have you heard a kresseig exhaust on the m6 v10? thats like godzilla screaming.

Yes the resonators do make a difference on the Fxx platforms, just not as much as an NA engine.

And yes I've heard the Kreissigg system for the M6 before in real life. The RPi GT system (non-resonated) is louder than the Kreissigg.
