Ughh.. Worst tires are the pirellis. Just ordered two sets of michelin tires as they are quite hard to find in my area.
Had pirellis before and on some other cars as well. Terrible tire with a super sensitive tire wall.

They use 50:50 PSS and PZero.

If you're lucky you get PSS otherwise you get crap tires.

Another reason not to upgrade to a 2015.

My '14 came with P Zeros. Haven't had any issues with them and traction had been great.

Love PSS. Although the traction of P zero is not bad compared to PSS , durability of PSS is really outstanding. My 14 CP comes with PSS

Couldn't find any PSS in the size I needed and opted for PZeros. I'm actually pleasantly surprised the Pirellis are not bad at all. Good grip as far as I can tell. If I had my choice PSS would be what I'd go with though, considering the combination of grip and tire life.

Yeah if you haven't owned an M5 on PSS then the PZero wouldn't bother you. But I don't think I would want to move from the PSS to the PZero.

Running PSS since delivery.

In my last few E60 M5's I ran Michelin PS2's. Which were great tires, then replaced with PSS which has a slightly harder compound and lasts a lot longer. I always prefer to run these tires on my cars.

Pirelli's are not bad tires. In other words, if you take delivery and get them, by no means are they crap tires. When it comes time to replace tires, it would be a good opportunity to try the PSS's.

I'll switch to the PSS when I replace the rears for the second time (since they usually wear out twice as fast). Of course, that all depends on if I even put enough miles on the car before the lease is up. Sadly, I think that the PSS might even be cheaper than the Zeros too.

Bottom line is, the P Zeros are more than adequate for the car for regular use and even spirited driving.

If it were me taking delivery, I would refuse delivery if the car came with Pirellis.

My car also came with PSS.

You do realize that the dealership is under no obligation to get you the PSS and they have no control of what the car comes with, right?

Pirellis are terrible for me and they are more expensive. In our roads here in Leb, any small pothole, and a balloon builds up on the Pirellis. Also, they wear it very quick. Michelins are my favorite. Dunlops are actually pretty good as well. Tried them this time and am pretty pleased. But will never go for Pirellis again.

Must be because the shortage. Pss are always hard to get. Looks like they can't even keep up with the automakers demand .
