BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Hi all,

UPDATE: alpine White it is.

First a short little introduction as I am new to this forum. After driving Audi since I was 20 (now 28) I've now made the switch to BMW. After watching almost every M5 movie i could find and a test drive Last week I have exchanged my Audi RS5 for a brand new M5 F10. My dealer estimates that it will arrive around August/September. The only problem I have is picking the color, which I will have to give to my dealer before the end of next week...

I'm kind of a blue fan since my last two Audi's both where Sepang Blue. With this said I'm leaning a bit towards Monte Carlo blue. Trouble with this is that I've only seen it on pictures and the color looks different on almost every picture.

I'm hoping that you guys can help on the deciding which color I should pick.

Regards,

Marco

Congrats on ordering an M5!

Color is such a personal and subjective thing you will get votes for every single color out there

Did you look at all the color threads already? Color threads: http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=632065

The Monte Carlo pics in the official thread are a good representation of the in-person hue, but it's a bit less saturated than the pics suggest. It looks very good on an M5, and I think it's definitely a better blue than Imperial given the character of the car -- unless you want a total stealth sleeper. However, it's still a little light for my taste, which is why I'd go Tanzanite myself through Individual (check it out on the 6 Series); I love the deep midnight color with the turquoise flecks since it makes the car look stately but still suggests there's still something special there. Or maybe even Le Mans for a darker than Monte Carlo but still sporty blue. Deep Sea also looks fantastic and I'm actually surprised it's not a standard choice, but I wouldn't get it if I had to go Individual.

I'm a blue person too if you couldn't tell.

Thanks for the quick responses guys!

I have viewed the colors topic several times and still it's hard to choose. Allthough I must say that I appreciate the Silverstone II color more then I did first. I also like the black colors. The down side to black is that you can't see the details as much as on a lighter color.

The sakir orange is a bit to flashy for my taste. I think for the interior i will stay on the save side a choose for the extend black leather.

Regarding the Monte Carlo Blue. Can anyone confirm that it is much lighter then Sepang Blue (audi color), because in some pictures they look very similar.

@jphughan It's hardly noticeable that you're a blue person

MCB looks slightly darker and less reflective of light in person IMO. My favorite BMW blue is San Marino!

Good to hear that it looks slighty darker in person. I was afraid that it might look lighter in person...

I think it's ether gonna be Singapore grey or Monte Carlo blue.

Also hoping to receive some more info from my dealer regarding the new satnav and multifunctional display this week.

Gefeliciteerd!! Congrats...You won't regret switching to the M5.
One thing you gonna miss for sure is the sound that the RS5 makes.

WOW...quite a shift from a blue/black to Alpine White....though I am leaning towards Citrin Black right now, when the time comes I too will likely go with Alpine White as well!!!

Anyway, congrats on the purchase!!!!

Cheers,

Dank je. My dealer is De Beier from Heerenveen. I gotta admit the m5 is a lot more silence from the inside then the RS5. It's a beast though!

I sold both my M5's e39 and e60 to de beier. Good dealership but so too far from Amsterdam.

Looking forward to see your AW M5.
