A Salted Frozen Black Batmobile in the NorthEast - Can the paint take it??? Lets see
NYC Area winter use brings about pain and suffering for the Frozen Black M5!! Lets put it to the test for everyone thinking "frozen" can't take a salt beating...
Steps are as follows: - Go get her all salted and dirty and throw in some bone-chilling cold temps for about 3 weeks; - Powerwash it with 40deg wand - Foam the livin crap out of it and let it sit - Wash with WookieMitt and 2 bucket method - Rinse using powerwash again - Air blast it with AirForce Master Blaster Only time you touch it...... is with the wookie Done! |

How do you foam it like that? I did the 2 bucket method on Super Bowl Sunday when it was 50 degrees.

That car was dirtier than dhirm5's!!!! LOL! Also wow, Frozen black looks shiny when wet, SO interesting!!! I think you've permanently have changed my perception of Frozen colors. Loving it man! Please take care of her! And here I thought I was babying my Sapphire Black Metallic by not even attempting to drive her in the salt. You sir are taking it to whole new level.

BTW - @GladiatorOwner - I see you haven't dropped her yet; have you somehow avoided that bug? You had your '10 dropped and modded all to hell before you ever posted pix of it over on m5board.
I just ordered new shoes for mine... Looking forward to showing them off here in a couple months...

The matte clear coat is defiantly more durable than many people think.
Frozen Grey is much easier to maintain and keep in prime shape than Frozen Black though. Good wash technique is critical with detailing frozen paintworks. Having a proper coat of sealant and using the right detailing tools makes maintenance and life in general much easier.
