What dealership doesn't have cameras? I would assume the insurance company and also the Alarm company would have insisted on cameras. Also I thought it was 102 miles in the beginning now it's 10, maybe I'm reading this wrong. We all know 10 miles is also uncalled for with a paint job. I'm wondering if the original painters are the ones who took the car for a f*&^ing joyride and the dealership has no idea. They did have the keys and were obviously unsupervised while pretending to paint your car. It's a shame, it's not your fault for bringing it to the dealer it is the dealerships problem. Hiring morons to work on your car.

Yea it said 100 or 120 miles before but seems like you corrected it. 10 miles is definitely a lot better than 100 miles. Can they really burn that much tread in 10 miles? Must have done some insane burnouts!

That's what I'm thinking. Sorry for the mistake. Yes I agree 10 miles is better, however still unacceptable.

Bringing the car back to the dealership Monday to show them all the damage. What do you guys think is reasonable to demand as far as repairs.

Hey Guys,

After all was said and done they agreed to fix all the damage and replace certain parts that were very damaged. Lou my service adviser was great and made things happen, and their even flat bedding my car and a loaner to me so it won't be driven at all. While it seemed the issue would be neglected at first, the dealership ending up coming through on this one.

You don't need a lawyer. You need your insurance company to address the issue. In these cases the insurance company is the payor and they have more power to hold the dealer accountable. I would call your adjuster and tell him the car has not been fixed properly and tell him to take care of it!

Just got off with my service advisor to ask about where the car was seeing my call wasn't returned. I was told I was told to "stop busting his fucking balls". I'm ready to call and have the car taken back and to a different dealership. What do you guys think about that customer care? No exaggeration. Is it too much to call and ask what the plan is? I think more guys on this forum ask more of their SA. Then he continued to tell me he doesn't need this, do I take any action regarding this situation or let it go?

If a service advisor said that to me I'd be at the dealership as soon as I got off the phone to talk to the service manager and then the GM.

Exactly how I felt. All I wanted was the plan of action, he said he would fix "some" of the damage. However he agreed to in our meeting in person to fixing all of the damage even if it meant replacing the steering wheel and glove box, he then continued to say on the phone that that would be going above and beyond and not an option of they couldn't fix it. You damaged it! You fix it, it wasn't like that when I dropped it off so anything the dealer (you) did should be fixed! Is that unreasonable? Please tell me I'm not crazy

I remember a commercial about America's Tire, when an old lady brought back a tire and threw it through the store's window because she was not happy.

I can imagine somebody driving their BMW back to the dealership and driving it through the showroom.

OP - sorry to hear about your troubles. What happened to customer service nowadays on a 100k car? I think it's time to put these guys on blast on facebook/twitter.

Does anyone have a contact at Jalopnik?

Time to name and shame on social media I think.

I'm ready to go that route, however I've spent over 700K + at this dealership and they have been giving me good deals, I'm not sure if this is worth burning bridges or just switching SAs

You're being far, far, far too passive. Not to be rude, but you need to grow some balls on this one. You're not busting enough of theirs. They've lied to you. They've been paid for repairs they haven't completed. They've allowed someone to joyride your car. Deals can be had anywhere on any car.

If this had happened to me, I wouldn't have accepted the car to begin with and I would have the service manager, GM, BMWNA, and an attorney involved long ago.

Get aggressive and then never use this dealership again.

Beyond that, I think it would be brilliant for you to provide the name of the SA and have all of us start leaving Yelp, Google, and DealerRater reviews with comments "Quit busting my fucking balls" - Insert SA name here.

-James

Good luck man. BMW NA needs to fix these issues with their dealerships. I dread having to drop off my car for service every time.

Call your adjuster ASAP. They are dicking around with you and looks like won't fix the car properly. I would l=not let them touch my car at this point - who knows what else they will eff up this time around...
