Drivetrain error

Question from the M6 side. Have had the drivetrain malfunction error when accelerating hard. In my review of the S63tu through the forums, its seems like it is usually a misfire causing it. Seems like it was a much bigger issue for the earlier engines. Is this the case? It came up as a cylinder 8 misfire. Hoping it will be a quick fix.

Maybe a faulty coil if the car is driven hard more often than not.

Had the same issue, hard acceleration resulted in drivetrain malfunction every time. I forget the error code but was something related to cylinder #3. Searched this forum regarding code and learned is was likely a coil going bad. Car had 80K miles at the time and was due for plugs so I also changed coils. Problem solved.
