Another victim of torque

Well just finish some upgrades on the car this week... such as

Pure turbo Stage 2
Dodson clutch
Dss rear axel upgrade
ESS tune

I all ready had JB4 BMC and meth.., MSR intake and IPE exhaust...

with this I ended up with 874 whp and 904 torque..so I decide to hold any post till I could get some number to back up the Dyno, but I got the car on Wednesday and that same night went to the track , but as soon as warm up the tire MT ET Steet I heard a loud pop and the var when on neutral...So the driving shaft broke ( cardan )...

Amazing numbers for sure!! Man, that really sucks that the DS broke...I bet you were sure you were good to go, too.

Anxious to see that beast run when you get it replaced!!

Wowzers, that looks like it sheared off clean. On the bright side, we are finding the weak points pretty quick.

Looks like we should get DSS to build a drive shaft for us. At the same time we should be thinking of adding a driveshaft loop.

Nice welding. You could have welded some support plates to add more strength.

Agreed. Hopefully the OP will weld some support plates to the new oem piece he gets before he installs it. Having the broken piece to examine will provide insight for the best way to build the bracing.

To the OP, I hope for some great 1/2 mile speeds!

Some times you need a 'cheap' weak link to save more expensive items.

Its good to see people pushing these and how robust they are as standard.

DR's will always cause issues so no suprise drive shafts, prop's and mounts are failing.

When you finally have enough horsepower and torque to break the driveshaft at the track.......it's actually a good feeling

Easy fix, easy to make better, congrats on the driveshaft shop driveshaft. You should be good for a lot more power now.
