Exhaust Cut-Outs Install & Video

I find the stock competition exhaust paired with catless DP's to be a very good mix of civility (cruising / idle) and some aggressiveness under WOT. However, the stock system has some limitations:

1. The X-pipe is restrictive
2. The muffler itself is slightly restrictive under very heavy flow

In my view the stock system is more than capable of 800hp, but tends to falter beyond that when trying to extract the maximum out of this platform.

I decided on a set of dual 3" QTP cutouts. Bought four 3-bolt flanges and had the cutouts mounted just prior to the resonators in the front section. The picture illustrates the position - its effectively like a straight-shot from the DP... down the front section and then straight out. No curves other than the initial turn-down from the DP's.

My car is generally louder than a comparable ZCP with catless DP's given the manifolds, turbo etc. flow a lot more. But when open, its just insane. At high RPM's its a level of ferociousness I have never felt/heard before.

The system seals very well - no leaks at all. The switch is mounted in the little cubby above the driver left-knee. Simple install (once the hardware is welded and mounted). I just tapped power from the cigarette lighter source so all power wiring is inside the vehicle.

Cutouts

High quality workmanship and an excellent mod. This is also on my list of mods.

That will turn some heads at the 1/2 mile! Even before the spectators see the MPH you turn at the end of the run! Well done.

Thx - came out pretty clean. Ran all the external wiring under the under-body heat shields so it’s tucked away

Can you tell me what parts you purchased to make this work? I'd like to order them and have my local exhaust shop weld it together. Thanks in advance!
