cant believe a dealer would risk it either.

its funny, the person who rear ended me in my m5 over a year ago was a dealership employee driving a customers car. lol.

i think he was a technician, taking it for a test drive, so not exactly the same but still, wouldnt want to be him.

My God. this is the most astonishing thing i have ever heard.

i agree with the others here, keep to dealers name quiet until after they have compensated you to YOUR satisfaction. Be tactful, while at the same time making it perfectly clear that if they dont give you complete satisfaction, that everyone involved, from the Managing Director to your service advisor, will probably prefer that they were dead......

after that, feel free to spread the word, that any customers should avoid this dealer in future, and why.

Good luck, and remeber, make them pay dearly.....

Terrible, and I would have them fully detail the car granted they do good work. I would also have find out the daily rental rate for 100k plus car, and pay the mileage rate. That's fair, and don't waste money in court as it will be a waste because no damage was done. Miles as we know depreciate a car, and that would be easy to calculate charging that as a rental rate. How many miles did they put on your car?m if they don't agree call BMWNA, and send a letter to the CEO a very nice one non threatening it will work trust me. (:

I wouldn't be surprised if the dealership continues to deny any wrongdoing

If only people gave a rats ass about other people's property...

I've been a loyal BMW customer since the early 90's to the point where I've purchased 3m's in the last 10 years and s**t like this really irks me. I don't really post much but this just sets my a** on fire. Like "MineF10" said, I am that guy also.

Inform your lawyer, keep him abreast of the situation and make there a** pay

Sorry to hear, that is horrible and if there was a thing as car rape, i believe you've been violated!

Seriously, I would utilize all media outlets including internet web sites, BBB, and FB/Twitter/Instagram to advertise what has happened. A few friends have used dealerrater.com and suprisingly had a very positive response from the dealer to compensate you for their wrongdoings.

Sorry to hear about this. I would be PISSED.

I held off replying because there were already some great replies on a response moving forward. Like others have said, please post the dealer name here once the issue is resolved.

I like the idea of getting the BBB involved too. That yielded positive results for me in the past.

I'm surprised people here are shocked. This is pretty common at US dealerships, although joy rides are more common than using the car as a shuttle. The nicer your car is, the higher the risk of abuse at the dealership.

I encountered dealership employees who consider this a perk of the job, and some of them even boasted to me about joy rides in customer cars.

Yeah and this is not just in US. Last week a BMW technician crashed M4 in Netherlands

funny, I had a similar experience with Nissan about 10 years ago. They were using my Armada the same way (lunch for techs, random drives, etc) and after suing Nissan USA, and them writing me a check for $15,000, we are friends again (but not allowed to sue them again, so I won't be buying another Nissan).

Just sayin.

Another reason why the dealership franchise system needs to go away completely. Let the company's sell and service directly to the consumer. It'll never happen though.

+10000. My parents are in market for a luxury car and I am steering them towards the Tesla Model S. One of my coworkers has a Model S - he is on his 2nd one and he cant stop raving about it. He said that taking his car for service is a phenomenal experience.

Man that is so messed up and wrong I almost cannot believe it. The outright nerve to take your car and do this. Someone needs to get fired big time. Getting some compensation might be ok if possible but someone needs to lose their job because they DO NOT GET what these cars mean to us. Good luck and take it easy.

Sorry to hear this. I'd be fuming to say the least!! Do not rest until you get some compensation out of this... and then reveal the dealerships name on the forum. I will say that I just had the 1,200 mile break in service done to my '15 M6GC and told the asst service manager that my car doesn't leave the lot without my permission. Call me paranoid or OCD, but I paid way too much money for this car to have some a-hole abuse it like a rental. Good luck to you on this one... please keep us posted.
