NY based peeps - new tint law crack down?

For all in NY, how is everyone getting around the tint enforcement per inspection?

In a nut, when you are getting inspected they are required to measure tint and will fail you if it's measured lower than 70%. This is for all side windows, including rear passenger side but NOT the rear window. The law is not new, the BS tying it to your inspection is though.

So how is everyone skirting this???? Btw if the shop passes u and it's found they didn't measure your tint, they get a $1000 fine! So don't think they are looking the other way on this.

I don't have tint, so I am okay on that front. But yeah, they have meters. If you are too dark, either take it off , or NO Sticker. Also NY state has been sending undercover inspectors to check on stations. If they get caught, the get fined plus get the inspector can get his certification suspended if caught.

Yes the new way to enforce the tint % is now given off to inspections on a yearly basis. No inspection station is going to approve a sedan with dark under 70 tints. Taking this shit off and on again isn't really an option.
