Another EAS dyno: F12 M6 with Meisterschaft Exhaust- resonator back system!!

I think you might be interested in this since the F12 and F10 exhausts are relatively the same.

I recently dyno'd my M6 stock (02/04/13) and then got the Meisterschaft Super GT Racing exhaust (no valves, I like noise all the time) installed this past Friday. Here are the dyno chart overlays and again thanks to Tom and team at EAS for doing this. As most of you Orange County guys know they are the "go to" out here for all your needs BMW wise.

Now the conditions were different from Monday to Friday so I take these with some cautious review but the car did indeed feel better after the exhaust was installed. Friday was cooler by about 7 degrees and since it was different days things could occur but the operator and the dyno are the same and the strap down procedure was the same as well. Im glad I didnt lose any power and the Meisterschaft is similar in sound levels (noise volume) to the Eisenmann Race axle back I have on my F10 M5. The sounds are different though. The Meister has a deeper throatier sound while the ERace is more exotic and a slightly higher pitched tone. Both are great for different reasons. I like Meister for its appearance, the cans are polished and the under piping is all stainless up to the resonator. I like the Eisenmann for the actual tips; no center supporting stick in the middle of the exhaust tips; Im not sure why its there but I will be cutting that out this week. The Eisenmann seems to provide more sound at coast down speeds to stop too. Some may not like this but I do. Ill be happy to answer more questions if you have any:

These are standard correction graphs and the exhaust appears to have produced some power and tq:

Nice Vic! Totally agree on the vertical support in the Meister. I don't like the look. Had no idea you could cut that out...sweet!

One question. Which charcoal liner is the dyno sheet referring to? Is the only thing that changed from run 1 to 2 the exhaust? Or did you also pull the airbox charcoal filters in addition to the exhaust swap?

If so, I'm wondering if those darn filters have a real effect on performance.

Thanks for the info. Love the Meister sound!

Yeah you can use a welding torch to remove them cleanly which I will do this week...

The charcoal filters are the airbox filters; thats is what they meant by the liner part. I had them removed after the first dyno so unfortunately I cant tell you what gains, if any, I got from them since they are mated with the exhaust install.

On my M5 I did the exhaust, then dyno, and then the filters so I guess I could go back and dyno it but again Id run into validation questions since its not the same day/conditionts etc.

Oh ok, cool. Not to impune on your dyno results or anything especially because I love the sound of the Meisterschaft, but Rob and I have hypothesis that the removal of the charcoal filters does in fact make power. Fly M5 already provided a dyno that showed a +15hp gain with charcoal filters removed only between dyno runs, but we don't know if that number is absolute. Also, Rob and I did a run against each other, with one M5 that had the filters still installed and the other M5 without the filters installed. The one without the filters pulled on the one with the filters.

Anyways, one thing is certain. You definitely have a GTR killer on your hands. Another member made a video of his stock M6 putting car lengths on a stock 2012 GTR in a race. It was pretty epic. Hoping to get the M5 to that level sooner rather than later. Can't wait to see your M6!

Very, very nice Vic. Sounds amazing. Regarding the center divider, I kinda like it...it is what says "Meisterschaft"

Dave and Rob, I just need to get back to EAS to do another dyno session without my filters, as I have a baseline with the Akra with filters. I don't think you are the only ones believing it releases more ponies!

I too think the filters have some juice in them... I not sure how much but there is something there no doubt.. FlyM5's dynos also had the plates installed too and thats where he had huge gains or was there a dyno with just the filters out??. I like to think the exhaust didnt hurt me and that was my goal. Ill have the HRE's on in about 3 weeks but the springs are not even available yet so the car sits a little high.

I know what you mean! I'm still holding out for the Eibachs. I feel like the black sheep whenever I go to Cars & Coffee now with everyone's M5s lowered and mine looking like its on stilts, haha!

H&R is a cheap, safe, functional option... I like EDC so Im waiting for H&R to release f12 springs; 3 weeks out I hear.

Its about even money for me.... deeper sound but maybe a few db's less loud at WOT. Its a good offset to the M5's exhaust. IMHO they are both too quiet for me

I pulled my filters and the car feels better. Not really sure about HP gains but it feels stronger. Maybe just placebo, maybe the 15 is real. It seems to breathe easier that's for sure. Sounds better too.

The C63 is amazing in so many ways... race car for the street. Just running it up to 100+ and then braking down to a standstill is an incredible symphony of downshift loud ass barks/roars.

Yeah Fly M5 did just a dyno pull with only removing the filters and he had the plates in. I highly doubt that the Meistershaft will make you lose any power. So far I haven't seen any exhaust for the F10 M5 lose power. It's pretty hard to lose power with a turbo engine exhaust system. With an NA engine, it's a lot easier.

I have the full cat-back Meisterschaft GTC exhaust on my M6. You can see and hear it over on the M6 forum (http://www.6post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=791125).

With the valves closed, I do think it sounds much more exotic. Of course, with the valves open, it has a much more deep note. I chose this exhaust for a few reasons: HP gains posted, loudness of sound, pipe diameter (I think its the biggest at 90-92mm), valve option, and rear split exhaust tips (I thought they looked cool).

Yo Vic55, did you wrap your rear spoiler? My local shop said it may be difficult to get the wrap to apply properly at the very edge. Is that true?
