We've all seen incredible and unfortunate crashes on this board. If this isn't a testament to BMW's commitment to engineering and complete passenger safety, then I don't know what is...
As others have said, must have been an awesome ride lol. Absolutely PRICELESS! European Delivery and the Nurburgring/RingTaxi is definitely on my bucket list.

ouch!!
Was in that one on a wet track just a few months ago. Can't say I'm very surprised though, one of them was running on the last mm of his tires that day lol they eat through em like butter. If they take it around the wet heavily this was bound to happen. |

I was at the track that day, The ring taxi started behind me, since the track was wet and VERY! slippery I tougth "okay lets follow him, he should have more experience on a wet track". Usually I don't go to the ring when it rains, but I had a few laps left on my card which do expire each season. So I was driving a few minutes behind the M5, until we arrived a corner where 4 cars have tried to enter the curve at the same time. The M5 passed from the outside and I didn't want to take that risk so I stopped to pursuit the Ring-taxi.
I haven't seem him anymore after this corner, but after few minutes I found the crashed M5.. I was happy that I stopped to drive behind him, maybe I would be in the same shitty situation. But the m5 wasn't the only expensiv car which had been crashed that day.. A Ferrari driver managed it to hit the wall at the third corner. I saw many crashes that day, when the track reopened after a crash, it didn't take 15minutes after the next one has crashed his car. |

Considering X-Drive is designed to get you that better traction in that slippery situation, I would assume it would handel better in a situation of traction loss then RWD. I mean that is the whole reason BMW bothers to sell it, not as fun though... Last edited by v1k1ng01; 10-28-2013 at 10:17 AM.. |

I think that my experience with modern Haldex equipped AWD systems is very much contradictory to what you describe... As well as any review I've read and seen on cars with Quattro, X-drive and other AWD systems. |

Must have missed something. I thought this was an M5 crash being discussed on an M5 board. How did the civic come into it, unless I am missing something and that is a generic term for M3s

I've found that people who learn the language vs. growing up with it actually end being more proper than those of us who throw around slang. You used 'disambiguation' correctly, so I am pretty sure your English is top-notch.
