Hero,

Can you state in general terms what numbers you are seeing for the 14 M5s well or if you wish, can you post a screen shot of 14 auction numbers. Just curious what the dealers are pulling these cars for?

TIA

2014 m5 prices, i think by summer prices will drop a lot, i see some dealers listing prices are almost same as auction prices, there will be a lot of 2014 m5's for sale this year!

What I have been preaching for months
Anyone buying a 2013 from a dealer today paying north of $50k is a friggin moron. A private sale no more than $47k. CPO means shit at this point on most 13s, forgo and buy a third party warranty.
2014 are starting to sell at mid 50s.
2013 will be mid to low 40s in a matter of a quarter or two. And many near 50k miles or all out warranty will break the upper $30k barrier.

I just need to take some pain killers when I see some of the brilliant chaps on cars.com or cargurus and even our lovely M5 classified sites that think they can sell a 2013 privately for mid $50k
I don't care that it only has 25k miles on it, it's about to be out of warranty if it's not already

Agree with everyone's thoughts on this. I was looking at low mileage 15s and am now starting to think that low mileage 14s are the play. There isn't much difference between the 2 yrs as long as its lci and has comp package. So, late 14s would work well since there is at least a year left of warranty if not cpo'd.

So far, '15 stocked dealers are not hitting the panic button but they might be starting to reach for it.

It's been a wondrous trolling hour or two sending this intel to about a dozen willie loman types aka car dealer salesman. Some of the responses back have been comical and total denial. Others are asking to make offers. Use what you can to your ability, remember we are now empowered consumers. Fuck the establishment lol. Carry on.

I just walked through that whole list of 2014 wholesale auction cars M5
Some of them including the higher mileage are listed at retail at 25-33% over the wholesale cost. Muthafckers argh, and way way overpriced -- morons
I can't wait till AI and machine learning put dealerships into the grave and the manufacturer and robot just push out your car at an agreed upon price based on demand of the masses. Car stealerships are as bad as cartel Gangs.

Well no one is biting. Looks like the ask is around 10k (give or take) over what they obtained them for at auction. Your seeing more than that....?

Offers should go right for the heart at 8Gs lower from ask if it's packaged to your specs. Be prepare to walk till reality sets in.

I just offered a dealer 60k for a certified 2014 M5 with 29, 000 miles. It didn't have B&O, and CP. They were asking 66k. Now I think I may have offered too much lol

Those are first list for fools. In 2 months the numbers will be 5k lower. That's when they will give up cause the floor is cracking (early summer). Or they will need sells in Jan/Feb to make their numbers. Selling a summer car in winter should be motivation to bend some. Trick is to make sure as a buyer, your not bending over!

Do Dealerships not realize they are loosing money for the car to just sit there.

there is no rhyme or reason as to why dealers keep inventory. maybe their waiting for just the right dummy to walk in. Like some people we have on this forum.

I think sometime in May or June would be the best time to buy a M5, since, New ones are coming in 18

They are asking close to 58k, i would say 45-47k would he fair price, because front bumper has some rock chips condition of the car 7 out of 10! And who knows if it was tuned or not... can't tell until i see it with my own eyes.

There is nothing wrong with buying one now. Buy a 14 CPO, done deal. Buyers just need to know what their doing, and be aggressive. Leave the 15 cars alone.

I keep hinting at this but wintertime is the BEST time (outside of end of year push) to grab one of these. These are rwd summer cars that most won't consider until trees start popping leaves and pollen is covering everything. The time to strike is now through mid-March when there is snow piles hiding hydrants. And if your in the south (excluding you turds in FL and Southern Cal! Haha I joke with jealousy...) it still doesn't matter since the weather is more wet and damp.

Dealers will negotiate, you just have to find one that's not a dick.....which is difficult.

Hero, the numbers I would shoot for is 50-51.
