Add my M6 to the list of M cars that have recently been rear-ended. I was stooped at a light in Easthampton, NY, when it suddenly felt like the engine shut off. Then I notice a 10-year old Jeep Grand Cherokee planted in my rear bumper. I get out of my car, and my pristine rear bumper is now scratched.

The woman driving Jeep had a cigarette in her had, and claimed her foot had just slipped off the brake. But looking at her, and watching her demeanor, she clearly looked drunk. Then, as a wonderful coincidence, there were two policemen right across the street, so I got their attention, and told them my suspecions. To make a long story short, they arrested her for driving under the influence, and at least my accident had the benefit of getting a drunk driver off the road before she caused serious damage.

You should see what and how much it takes to get a driver license in Europe.

The lack of proper training in the US and the lax "tests" are ridiculous.

Have LEOs friends on LI and apparently mid-life wives driving drunk or on pills/ medication is a pervasive problem.

UPDATE

Body damage $6k, diminution in value: TBD. 3-4 week job for the body work and they still need to determine if there is any suspension damage, which would increase the cost and repair time!

ADV1 wheel replacement/tire/TPMS: $3,700: 3-4 week build time for one wheel. Hopefully sooner. I am now looking into changing the face/lip color combo with the help of Matt from ADV1. How about matte black face with bronze lip?

Damn dude. I hope you have it back soon. It'll be good fixed good as new I am sure.

As for the wheel...I do like that color combo. Much more aggressive than what you have now. DO IT!!!

Thanks Lacster! My buddy was at the body shop and took pictures of my Baby. I didn't even recognize her. It will be about another 1-2 weeks for the body work and 2 weeks for the new wheel. Ughhhh Did I mention that the Porsche driver did NOT have any insurance?

They could at least cover the doors with something, so that natural elements don't get inside the car. Oye!

Right? Fortunately it's not raining here in LA, but still put some plastic on that side of the car!
