the akra. is much more very low bassy sound... like a bass round smooth sound. the eisenmann have more roughness in it, roar sound... something like that.. If you come from a C63AMG I think u would love the Eisenmann much more I guess? I personally love the Eisenmann much more, and a friend of mine change from Akra. his first to Eisenmann now. The Eisenmann is much more louder, even tho the akra. is good as well. is all back to your own taste of sound. but the Eisenmann is so good. I order it already. cant wait!

Anyway C63AMG with IPE exhaust.DOPE! haha.

Not the same as hearing them in person, but this might give you some idea on the differences

Akrapovic Exhaust

Eisenmann Sport and Race

The videos are useless IMO. I haven't heard akra, but I love Eisenmann. And that probably means I won't like Akra.

Eisenmann sounds like a German Muscle Car. Deep exotic rumble of thunder. The sound of a car that is ready to kill someone. Its beasty.

I love my Akra! The sound is very intoxicating and exotic, it is pretty quiet when cruising, but under hard acceleration is where the Akra comes alive. I get so many peeps turning head wondering what's making that sound. Check out this Youtube clip, this is one of my favorite video of the Akra.

I was going to get the Eisenmann Race, but wanted a full exhaust instead of a section 3. Since the Full Eisenmann Race price was pretty much close to the Akra, I chose the Akra. It is full titanium, plus no one else makes carbon tips, quality is superb, second to none!

Extremely different sounds and noise levels.

Akra = subtle and exotic
E-Race = loud menacing roar

Personally, my vote would be Eisenmann Race - mufflers only. Much louder and half the price of the akra.

You need to go hear both in person. As soon as you experience them, you will know which is right for your taste.

Went through this same exercise. It eventually boiled down to the following:

- E-race w/centers. I only heard the axle back in person. Deep, throaty, more like an AMG. Loud, but not obnoxious.
- Akra Evo. Higher pitched, exotic. Turbo more pronounced through exhaust. Closer to the E60 (S85) "metallic" sound.
- Meisterschaft w/LXR center. Midway between the two above, throaty and exotic. Louder than the Akra with the valves open, not quite as loud as the E-race axle back.

I too definitely suggest listening to these in person if possible, under load. Stationary revving is not quite the same as when rolling.

As others have said it really comes down to personal preference .
I am very happy with the Akra and like it's more subtle sound profile as it doesn't draw as much attention when driving in the city.
It seems the other option is the Eisenman or Supersprint which are louder and more "aggresive" but both are great exhausts. I had an Eisenman on my X5 and loved it.
All of them preserve the OEM look (to a large extend) and with the Eisenman/Supersprint you could also powdercoat the tips black be even more subtle .

Not sure if it's of any use but here is a short video of idle after startup with the Akra

Im partial owning the Race but know Akra very well.... money is not an issue for me and Id still take the E race---- its a set of cans with pipes. The sound is louder, more exotic IMHO with E-Race and this car needs a wake up call big time from the stock exhaust.

on a side note I have the Meister on my M6 F12 and its an awesome piece of work too--- slightly deeper than the E race but less exotic.

We just installed an Eisenmann Sport performance + center pipes on a local M6. This setup has to be one of my favorite sounding options now.

I have the eisenmann sport + midpipes. It's halfway between the e-race and akra and like Nate said, it's a great setup.

We did both on this F10 M5 project and the customer went with the Akra in the end. It just sounds more refined and not so loud. Eisenmann Race sounds amazing, but loud and droned more than our customer wanted.

Several options on the market but with the factory design being really good a rear section exhaust works really well and provides a deep aggressive sound.

Don't forget Supersprint. From the downpipes to the tips there's now a plethora of options to make it as refined or as loud as you like!

If you want to read into the whole R&D process of the development of an F10 M5 exhaust, just take a look at this: http://supersprintlabs.com/portfolio...aust-rd-notes/

A good read!

Lots of good choices and the quality seems to be spot on for all of the makes. I guess it boils down to price and sound.

If you want loud - a 12v cummins diesel in 94-98 1/2 Dodge Ram is about as loud as you can get. I was trolling around in the tow vehicle today and forgot how loud it was. Redneck street cred
