New M5 Owner!

Yay! I finally picked up my Silverstone M5 from Momentum BMW in Houston. Great car. Worth the wait. Service at Momentum wasn't the best (I've purchased two cars from them in the last 20 months) but I am glad I have this 2013 M5. It is performing just as I expected it to if not more. I leased the M5 as an everyday car BUT I realize one (me) cannot drive this car everyday without risking a speeding ticket or some sort of traffic "occurance" LOL Being that Momentum BMW would not give me what I wanted for my 2011 550i, I figured to keep the M5 as a toy and drive the 550i daily - or until I sell it. One, I, cannot have two very similar cars - or are they so similar? Either way, the 2013 M5 is amazing. So many things to like. The best thing to like is that it is the fastest car on the road next to the Cadillac CTS Coupe or the Mustang GT Saleen. I think. Oh well, Houston is packed with Porsches and BMW that the best thing about the 2013 M5 is that it truly is a fast car.

Have fun everyone!

Here are a few pics from the showroom floor at Momentum BMW before I drove off in my Silverstone M5. Yes, I now have a 550i and an M5. I need to get rid of the 550i LOL.

I also replaced a F10 550 (2012 M Sport) with the new M5. As much as I loved the 550, I did not shed a tear when it left. I had them together for a few weeks until I sold the 550 - if you are a BMW enthusiast like many of us here, you'll find that this is probably the best car they've produced to date! The F10 in general is a superb vehicle, and in my opinion the M5 version is one of the best all-around cars currently made in the world. Congratulations!

Beautiful Icon

Congrats on your new vehicle. It is beautiful and this is the color that I picked on the order sheet. Did you get all the options?

By the way, by the time the mod bug gets to you, you will have a very, very fast car.

As long as you don't go to BMW midtown. They are the worst. BMW West is not too bad. I used Pacific BMW in Cali for my ED. Let me know if the Houston guys meet sometime.

Congrats bro. I'm in Houston and hopefully I'll be picking mine up this weekend. Houston Coffee and Cars Oct. 6, is a must...we need some F10 M5 representation out there.

Congrats on the new ride! I picked mine up a little over a week ago from Moritz in Arlington. Great dealership. I live in East Texas and am loving the M5. Black on black with DCT, Exec, 20 inch rims and B&O. It is better than I expected. I have a question for you Texas owners, are you mounting the front plate? My dealer did not want to drill the bumper but I noticed one of the pics on the thread had a plate holder. I'm thinking about leaving it off as my dealer said he has never had one owner get ticketed. Thoughts?

I am a huge BMW fan....but the problem with this car is illustrated in the above pics. BMW had the chance to finally make the M5 look for muscular and raw....instead, it looks almost indistinguishable from the 550. Total bummer to me. When my current lease is up in 6 months, I'm seriously considering a Panamera GTS instead.

I get what you're saying.

The M5 has presence when you are standing next to it though. BMW has always had a subtle approach to differentiating the M5 from the rest of the lineup. Could they have amped it up slightly more?...yeah, but go too far and it loses the executive quality it seeks to embody. More wheel flare might have worked.

A murdered P GTS looks like Mad Max to me

I didn't want to mount the fron plate but I purchased a K40 radar detector that require you moun the front plate. The deflection system is mounted in the K40 license plate frame. Police are trained to ping the front license plate on a suspected speeding vehicle where the front plate mount from K40 deflects the police radar gun's signal.

LOL, that's the kicker, I am in the M5 more than the 550i. Sometimes I can't even look at the 550i sitting in my garage as I walk up to get into the M5 LOL. How do I get get rid of the 550I?

Fully loaded. Executive package and sport package. Tinted the windows and added the K40 radar detector.

Panamera? My business partner has a Panamera and I can tell he was envious Monday when I pulled up in my M5. I even gave him the keys to drive my M5 and he declined saying, "this is too much power for me". Really? I think it was the sound of the M5 engine when he turned it on. Panamera's do not sound like an M5. LOL

well, then I am pretty sure that he does not have the Panny GTS......that car is just vicious, and can def hold its own against the M5. While the M5 is surely "faster," I think the Panny is more luxuurious inside, handles better, better exterior aesthetics, etc. To each his own.

Either way, the M5 is awesome for sure, so enjoy the ride.
