BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Hi! This forum has been a great resource - I've learned a lot in just the past few months since I stumbled across it. Thank you to all who have contributed!

My wife and I have had 4 previous Bimmers (325, 328xi, 528xi, X5- we used to be in snowy Minneapolis), but this is my first M car. Having been to M School several times, the itch kept getting stronger and I knew it was only a matter of time before I couldn't resist anymore.

Does anyone need close to 600hp in a family sedan? No. Is it ridiculously fun to casually scare the crap out of your passengers while never even going full-throttle or over 4k rpms (I only have 100mi on it)?? Abso-freaking-lutely! The smiles per mile are immeasurable, and it's so practical!

I'm no fanboy (driven Volvos, Nissans, etc etc, like most people throughout their lives), but I LOVE this car. A lot. It's no Porsche or GTR, but it was never meant to be. I don't need a track car for a DD, and with 2 little ones 2 car seats are a must (and also the reason to forego full leather- I like easy cleanups). BMW has created a true jetliner with this one. I'm still getting used to the steering (i have the 2014 (no CP) and admittedly I will say my 2008 528xi felt more "connected" with the slight bumps/sensations, but I will say that this seems typical when comparing an older, more "analog" car to a newer one- so it's not just a Bimmer thing- just my thought). Also SO interior is one fun color; it's pretty much red in person and everybody who sees it loves it!

Anyway, I thought I'd say hi and congratulations to all who have been fortunate enough to own such a marvelous machine and keep the miles coming in good fortune and good health!

Sorry for the poor pics/lighting, I was too excited to wait for perfect conditions

Thank you! I'm surprised I really don't see that many around Dallas/Fort Worth... Few and far between.

Dude, I'm loving your username. You sound like a real down to earth guy. I completely agree with how you feel. It's very refreshing to see someone here who understands and loves the F10 M5 for what it was built for. Congratulations man, you deserve it!

Yep. Not the greatest town, but its where the planes are.

Which dealer are you using for service? Last week I toured most of them in the Metroplex while my motorcycle was getting its annual, and I seemed to prefer Classic in Plano, but they were all pretty nice except Moritz...

Yes, they are beautiful when i can catch one in the air flying over I-20, which is more than I can say for the surrounding habitat.

I got mine from BMW of Dallas (near Love Field on Lemmon Ave). Classic has the best reputation (they won an award or two from BMW), but it's a little far for me. I've had a good experience with Dallas since 2009. We moved in 2010 and we bought our X5 from Moritz in late 2011(a little closer and more convenient to our new location) and after a couple of really poor customer service issues for with their Service dept I vowed to never go back... Overpriced and they make you want to Talking around I know I'm not the only one who's had a poor experience at Moritz.

Also, my parents bought a Volvo from Autobahn Automobiles in Fort Worth (they have separate Volvo, BMW, Porsche etc dealerships all along the same road). They said they had a good experience but I know that doesn't mean anything since the service depts are all separate (but sometimes if its one company they share a common customer service philosophy).

Sorry for the long answer! I don't think you can go wrong with Classic or Dallas... But Autobahn may be the most convenient as its closest (but if you're driving into town for fun, that may not be an issue).

I have bought cars from all of the dealers and only service with Classic and specifically Pat Arnold; he understands M cars and is a great guy. If he moved dealers I would follow him.
