Drag radials?
Who's thinking about drag radials?
I'm thinking of getting and extra set of rear wheels, either factory or replicas that are 20x10.5. I'm looking at Nitto and Mickey Thompson ET II. Both make a size that I think will fit the stock 20"s. I'm primarily looking to use these at the strip but will drive them to and from the track. Perhaps some fun along the way. Thoughts? |

What size width are you going? 303's? I'm actually experiencing some great traction with my pirelli sotto zero winters. I'm also interested in drag radials.

Drag radials
Don't want to sound like an expert or anything but, there is a lot of info on the E60 M section about this. I can tell from experience that the options are much greater when you try to find wheels/tires for the 17/18 inch sizes than you do for anything larger than this. The only disadvantage is that you can only use the wheels/tires at the track since they won't match. A set of used 18 inch wheels and some Hoosier or Mickey Drag radials are half the price, or less, than any 20 inch wheel with tire combo.

Good question. I'd like to use my stock 20" wheels
Nitto NT05R 315/35 (only 20" size) - Probably too wide for stock 20x10 Nitto NT555R 305/35 - doesn't require a serious burnout but not sure it's got more grip then stock Micheline PSS MT ET Street Radial II 305/35 - probably stickiest tire but requires a good burn out which seems difficult with the M5 |
