KW sleeve-over kit is finally here!
M3 Sleeve Kit Shown After over a year of anticipation, a handful of rumors both confirming and denying KWs plans, and speculation from vendors across the US, KW Automotive GmbH has conclusively confirmed the existence of their Height Adjustable Spring (HAS) kit. KWs HAS kits have enjoyed enormous popularity on BMWs smaller M cars, and are sure to make M5 owners even happier. The KW HAS kits are uniquely designed to slip a height adjuster over the original BMW damper, allowing you to retain full EDC functionality and in-cabin adjustability, while also allowing for height adjustment using KWs famous threaded body adjusters. KW engineers use their talents to perfectly match the new KW springs to the original BMW dampers, carefully selecting spring rate, coil count, coil size, compressed height and free height to get a perfect ride quality and handling feel. We're so excited to see this kit on the market, it should really be a great product!

Do they plan to make an application for Comp Pak cars?

IND will have access to both the Dinan and KW products. At this point KW does not have a Comp Pak specific part number. The Comp Pak dampers should be slightly stiffer to accommodate the competition pack springs, and should work fine with the KW sleeve kit. I'll confirm with KW as soon as possible. Agreed! I think the HAS kit will be the best of both worlds for many M5 owners.

I'm sure the quality of both kits will be quite good, it's just that the companies may have a different focus for the use of their kit. One may be more track oriented, the other more toward a comfortable street ride, hence the desire for a way to compare. Both kits will lower the car, but that's not my primary goal. I'd like to see if this solution, which is in between stock suspension and the full coil-over shock replacement, might suffice for occasional track use at an improved level of performance from stock. As you said, "the best of both worlds for many M5 owners". Having the specs from your comparison of the springs will let those M5 owners make an informed decision on their purchase. |

The adjustment range will be from .2" lower than factory, all the way to 1.2" lower than factory, both in front and in the rear.

The HAS kit will work with the competition package cars- the stiffer dampers will only work better with KW springs.
