It appears to be identical to mine on the MSport so I would have to say that it is the CF.

Was it Estoril? That color is very similar to Monte Carlo, but was discontinued by BMW. It was a very popular color, hence the arrival of Monte Carlo as a replacement being very close in hue was met with a lot of praise from enthusiasts.

BMW USA has just recently started allowing MCB Individual M3s (it has been available elsewhere for some time), and the first of the orders are set to begin arriving any day now. It's an amazing color on an M3, and I'm sure it will look great on the new M5 too.

Not impressed. For all of the power under the hood, the body design is sedate.
Not much sportier than the regular 5-series. Throw in the possibility of an Auto-only
transmission, you've got yourself an over-powered, old man, sedan.

I completely agree, the new Audi S6/RS6 and Porsche Panamera have a huge advantage over this because of AWD. with that much torque it really needs it, maybe it could have handled the DCT if it had AWD.

tons of people say that would be completely against what M stands for, I say BS, they already got rid of the stick and NA engines, why not go AWD, I would be sold on it, I live in Chicago and plan on buying a sports sedan to drive all year, I would love to go AWD but prefer BMW over Audi... I really would prefer the M5 beast over the 550xi too. They could make the AWD give power first to the rear or driver select...

Maybe BMW will shock us and in 2 years come out with a AWD version with DCT!

They really need this color on the X3! love it on the X5 M, maybe a X3 M version in a few years will have it.

That being said, let's wait until more of the fascia is revealed. It's very hard to make out the true form of the car until all the camouflage is removed, as we saw with the 1///M

I concur! It looks just like a regular 5 series with M-sport package

And I couldn't possibly agree with you three LESS.

Seriously, I'm not even a BMW owner and I know for a fact, that the M5 have always been a wolf in sheep's clothing. Take the M5 E34 for example:

It looked just like a 525i with some fancy wheels and side skirts.

The M5 is all about subtlety, even Jeremy Clarkson agrees with me:

Quote:
The M5, however, has always been a little bit different. The best was the first. Launched in the late 1980s it looked exactly like my dad’s dreary 525e, but thanks to its 286bhp straight-six engine it went with a ferocity and a panache that had no place in a four-door saloon.

It was, quite simply, the best Q car ever made (it looks ordinary but goes like a rat up your trousers).

That said, the M5s that followed were fairly stupendous as well. Quiet, unassuming cars for people who wanted to get home very quickly without making a song and dance about it.

So whenever I see someone in an M5 I’m overcome with a wave of respect, because here is someone who has paid a fortune to hide his light under a bushel. I like that.

You mean massive body roll, a steering system that is not connected to the front wheels, and the engine note played through the speaker system?!?!?!?!

Agreed.

Why can't BMW design better wheels? Other than a handful of designs, generally speaking, BMW OEM wheels are awful.

Also agreed.

If Hamann could do this to a regular F10 5-series, I was hoping that the M division would come with something a little more aggressive.

I love it so far
It feels like the e34 and e39, a true sleeper supercar
Yes, the e60 was very extroverted, but that was a departure in its own right
This feels like bmw getting back to traditional m5 styling
although the auto only talk is bothersome
I pray BMW doesnt go that route

My bet is that when the ceramic brake option becomes available later on, BMW will offer it with a 20 inch wheel design exclusively for the M5.....

Monte Carlo Blue was first introduced on the BMW X5-M and BMW X6-M.
It was then added to the "edition" M3 in the Summer of 2009.
