Any of you running JB4+BCM running on Map 5? I didn't see any reviews on F10 M5 in Map 5.

Haven't tried Map 5. Seems like it's a pilot program and BMS is looking for logs from customers for fine tuning. In theory its great as less boost in low rpm equals a bit more traction.

I hesitate to try it out as I only have access to 91 octane. Staying on map 1 until I find a good source of 100 to mix.

so just to be clear IF** you flashed your car, and say it had a catastrophic failure...

dealer would do some digging to see the ECU etc.. but, in any normal case, this is out of their scope of work and they would probably* never bother to check ECU for it being cracked, correct?

Unfortunately its a gamble whenever you modify your car. Some dealers are a bit more mod friendly than others.

Still testing out Map 1 and 2, didn't get a chance to try 5 today. There is something off on Map 2, perhaps my 93 octane isn't cutting it, i will have to get on a road where i have enough space to do a couple pulls back to back to get a good log to trouble shoot.

Once i have it figured out i will try Map 5 and let you know.

i've got a good dealer. I'd honestly like to go the flash route, but i'm just worried about a freak failure then bmw has to dig into things.

how much is an m5 ECU?

You buy them as a set is all I'm saying..around $4,000 for two.
The reality is its worth it.

Can someone post a picture of everything the jb4 with bcm comes with? I bought one off a forum user and not sure if it has everything? If I'm not mistaken it's missing the bcm right?

Also, bcm has 4 plugs, 2 female connectors and 2 male for the boost controllers. I don't see those either.

Stage 1 was the first iteration, then there was JB4 with all the logging capabilities. It looks like you have JB4 w/o bcm. If you got screwed, please post the seller's info so we know to stay away.

All you got there is the JB4, USB cable, Bluetooth cable and the OBD cable.
Missing the BCM

I bought it from AstonMartian777 it took him over a month to get me a tracking number only because I kept listening to his bullshit until I escalated my dispute to a claim on PayPal so he got it to me but now It's missing the bcm cord, I told PayPal already I should be getting refunded soon they said after they speak to him, worst transaction I've ever had

That Sucks. Well you should be getting refund soon. Return it to seller. Aston has a blk M6 i believe. Get rid of the piggy and move onto flash. Itll be much better for the car instead of seeing that Graph go like a struggling heart beat.

JB4/BMC is great and well supported and easy to remove plus addes so many benefits you don't get a with just a flash. Most issues are to do with existing problems (boost leaks, plugs etc) or not understanding how to use the JB4- i.e using map 2 which only works on CP cars and SOME non-CP's due to maxing fuel trims- meth sorts this for non cp cars.

There are many who have had issues with flash tuns so nothing is fool proof.

I guess you have problems on both,
Then that leaves to Owners preference.

I personally Like the Flash, last year i ran moact. Car was strong tehn same oponent i beat then a few laps later he beat me, then after cool down we were even. It was inconsistent In My Opinion But if u stack it. Its different story.
