Should I get a tracker?

So I live in London in the UK on a quiet residential street and dare I say it is pretty much prime free (touch wood, touch wood touch wood) although residents parking is all on the road...

Im just asking myself if I should purchase a tracker? I know there are mixed feelings around this and to be honest Im not even sure if the M5 is the kind of car that people target ( I am going to assume a yes to this)

Would a tracker even help??

Yes you should get a tracker. You will probably find that it will pay for itself in 1to 2 years through lower insurance premiums. For me the insurance is £300 per annum lower with a tracker in a fairly low crime location.

Also if you've bought used it may have one you might just need to subscribe.
I found most companies won't insure a m5 without a tracker. So i think it's a no brainier.

Im covered from an insurance point of view without the tracker.

Ive also got GAP insurance in place...I guess what im thinking in my head is if the car actually gets stolen....do I actually want it back after some idiot has been doing god knows what to it?....If the gap insurance will cover me up to the price that I paid then perhaps a better solution would be just to go and buy another m5??

I think you should check quotes with and without tracker you might be surprised.

If it gets stolen you'll probably get it back eventually anyway. At least with a tracker it will be quicker.

I do think that expert car thieves assume an m5 will have a tracker anyway. In my area there has been a spate of new bmw stolen.

Just checked with my insurance company and it appears that there is no discount with a tracker (direct line)

Probably worth checking at renewal tracker versus no tracker. I pay 550 lowest without tracker was 850.

I was under the impression that BMW assist can locate your car.

Agreed I have one on mine, the 5 year Battery option from "tracker" , it's cheap and it can be tracked even under ground.
