Updating I-Drive to 2017+?

I am sure you guys have noticed how radically superior the 2017+ IDRIVE system is, especially in voice recognition. It takes the voice control from being useless to being absolutely great.

Does anyone know if this can be changed via software alone and not hardware? Desperately want my 2016 M6 to have the great voice controls.
