While we are not done just yet, the power numbers as of today are pretty fantastic and something we wished to share. The test car had the following already installed when it arrived at AMS/ALPHA Performance:

AMS/ALPHA 90mm Non-Catted Downpipes
Full Eisenmann Exhaust
GruppeM Airbox Set

This M5 baselined at around 550whp and just over 500tq. After our president and head tuner Martin Musial spent some time on it, we picked up a staggering 93whp and over 100ft lbs of torque - totaling 643whp and 606 tq…again TO THE WHEELS!

Looking at the dynograph, the blue line is John’s car as it came in to AMS with a stock tune. The red line represents hp and tq after our custom Alpha tune. It’s important to note these are not glory runs. These were average pulls and some of the cold runs were even higher.

The green line is of a stock M5 that came into our shop a while back…simply for reference. Compare the green and red to see what this setup would do vs a completely stock BMW M5 (F10).

The tune isn’t completely finished as we have some refinements to do, but the gains cannot be dismissed. The first ALPHA 7 M5 was just born.

Additional noteworthy details

The speed limiter is removed.
We can remove CEL’s.
Our future plans for the BMW M5

A tuning solution for the BMW M5 is what we’ve been working towards and something MANY owners have been waiting years for! Further development at AMS will consist of an Alpha tune for a stock M5 (F10), as equipped here in this test (ALPHA 7 prototype) and an Alpha tune for our existing upgraded turbos (Alpha 9 ) as seen in the images below.

Question Ams: For those of us who r using either bms or dinan piggys and have gained power your program is a true tune that addresses all the parameters that effect the air/fuel ratios fuel pump issues that arrise. We all are excited about the new development but are weary also. If a person is running say 650 or more using a piggy how diff will the tune act. Excuse my lack of knowledge. I do realize a tune is better than piggys. Just want info for us all. Thanks and good job. Oh yea. Will the dealership detect this when we take it in for service.

The car came in with down pipes, exhuast and Carbon air boxes.

For those looking for more info we have a thread running here with more information. http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1078869 It's probably best we keep it all in one place.
