Technically we can play with cold start but its not something you should simply "turn off" It's going to take some time with that particular system. It's there for a reason.

There is a way you can control the cold start with the gas pedal yourself.

645whp and 630tq. Not too shabby for 93 octane a tune and an exhaust. I think our first ALPHA 7 M5 was just born

Yes, the car came to use with our catted downpipes and an Eisenmann exhaust.

The full mod list for this car is as follows:
AMS 90mm Catted Downpipes
Eisenmann full exhaust
GruppeM Japan Carbon Airbox set
ALPHA custom tune for 93 octane
645whp/630tq on our Dynojet so far.

I dont anticipate HP changing but they do want to spend some more time tweaking the tune to make sure everything is happy. I will say that I have always liked the F10 M5 but the fact that you can do pull almost 650whp from a full exhaust and a tune is pretty damn awesome.

That is very impressive. You guys have always done amazing stuff. Even going back to my DSM days.
Need a Alpha 8 with upgraded turbos and race gas please.

I don't usually make assumptions, but in this case I would assume that with the same setup, but catless dp's and race gas you can do 680ish whp.

Ummm, would AMS consider looking into upgrading the half shafts? LOL
I have already found the limits with sticky tires.

Sure, we have a great relationship with the guys at Driveshaft shop. We have been their guinea pig of sorts for years.

Quick question, there is no remote flash and you need the ECU in order to tune the car does this mean you are physically messing with the ECU? Or are you just "hooking" it up to a system in order to tune the ECU? The reason I ask is I have read that some of the Germany tuners are just "cracking" into the ECU and physically modding it so that they can tune it.

Thanks Q

We are physically hooking up to the ECU using some pretty complex tools and software but the actual ECU itself is not modified...simply remapped here. The process had two major hurdles. The first was unlocking the encryption. That has taken a great deal of time. The second is knowing/defining all the maps within the ECU. This also takes a great deal of time as you have to determine not only what each map does but how it communicates with other maps. Making one change could effect several other maps and negate what you are doing...oh and its all in German too lol.

I started a new thread about the gains including posting a dyno graph

Now the most famous questions of all Ams. How does it drive, pull, sound compared to before. And the best part---- cost for us poor people who are standing in line to order. I know of a few of us who need to know these items before we place a order. Thank you

First let me say awesome work guys!

Few questions, will your tune address the CEL from adding your catless DP's?

And lastly when can I send my DME'S in?

So you are saying that you have fully cracked the 1056bit encryption on the ECU software? This is the first open claim I have heard of this. NO tuner, including the German ones to my knowledge has claimed that they have fully broken the encryption and actually shown evidence that they have done so, to the public. I assumed that breaking the encryption would have allowed for flash tuning via the OBD2 port. Sounds like in order to connect directly to the ECU, you have to physically open the ECU boxes, correct? Please forgive my naivete, I have not attempted to physically break open my ECU's or tried to directly connect a computer to them before. I think it's great if you guys have truly fully broken the encryption, but like everything else in life, I'd like to see some rock hard evidence. Perhaps an open source session outlining exactly how you guys are manipulating the data on the ECU's? Additionally, determining the maps without a set of instructions, blueprints, or the manual would be extremely complex. I can see that taking an extremely long time to do.
