Driving gloves ??

I was driving home tonight and another M5 passed me and noticed the driver wearing black gloves. Anybody wear gloves while driving ? If so, Im curious as to what type you wear and whether you get a better grip by wearing them. Your thoughts anyone?

I am a glove wearer. In the past I mostly liked the deerskin leather gloves. I think wearing gloves is a great thing to do while driving any car. My palms always sweat while driving, especially on the track or mountain roads and I find them very useful. Plus it may help to keep the steering wheel a little more sanitary if you keep the gloves clean too.

If I'm at the track! I have a pair of Sparcos that I've used for years. Love 'em.

I wear bespoke driving gloves from Chester Jefferies in England. Bespoke is the way to go. You send them a hand drawing and measurements of your hand. You get a glove that fits like a second skin - every finger is exact. Plus they have smartphone leather available now.

I have two pairs. One pair are driving gloves (The Morgan) which are black and red and are unlined. The other pair are dress gloves which have black smart-phone leather palms with a dark brown deerskin back and a rabbit fur lining.

Google Chester Jefferies and their website will come up. If you can't customize what you want on their website, then call them. They are pretty open to customizing what you want.

Before reading this thread I never thought of wearing driving gloves and despite the benefits, not sure I can get away with it. I can see the look on my wife's face now, lol. Is there a driving shoe thread?
