Tire noise
The tire/road noise in my car is very high and annoying, have the 20" wheels with Michelin PSS tire. Did not expect this since my F10 550Xi with the same wheel/tire size didnīt have this high noise!
Also the track-sensitivity is much more in my M5 vs 550... How about your M5īs??

I donīt consider the road noise in my car to be higher than in the 550.
Maybe a tad higher - not sure. My car snakes a little bit when accelerating hard on the bad Swedish roads ( destroyed by spike tires during winter ). Otherwise fine.

Amazing!
I am pleasantly surprised that there isn't more comments on tire noise. Given the tires you would think that they would produce good amounts of tire noise, but the insulation in the M5 must be blocking it out. Especially if those with F10 550's or 535"s are thinking it is about equal. Wow!

Track-sensitivity could be due to a faster steering ratio. I'm not sure how the M5's compares to the 550i's, but for example the base 3 Series models have a steering ratio of 16:1, whereas the M3's is 12.5:1.

It's definitely louder than I would have thought given the luxury nature of this car.

Too Loud,, depends on who is listening.
Tire noise is both subjective and what you are used to. Also it is a trade-off with performance. Meaning my 2011 Z06 has serious tire noise but when I compare my 550i to it the BMW sounds pretty quiet (unwelcome wind noise aside). Yet when I compare my 550i to my previous A8 the 550 isn't so quiet. Finally I think one's sensitivity to the question of tire noise has alot to do with whether you acquired the M5 to track it or have it be an executive saloon with the occassional "let it rip" run on a highway on ramp. My guess by the way is that the MB CL63 amg has more insulation and hence less tire noise. I know the Panamera is reasonably quiet because i have test driven all versions of them many times.
