Wow, awesome thread. OK so hopefully, you guys can give some advice. I'm looking at treating myself to a nice watch, however my budget is on the low side... 5k max, preferably around 3k.

Do I have any options with Breitling? And should i buy used or new?

Uou have to pick your battle.
You want to love your watch and nothing else or you want your watch to hold its value?

You have a lot of options available in 3-5k but some watches never hold its value.

My Tag Hauer Monaco is a good example:
I love it from the day one since it started as architect and designer's watch in 50-60s then changes to car guy's watch (I'm related to all of that, designer, architect and car guys) but as soon as I buy it, the watch lose 50% value. So when I want to trade in, it worth so little compare to other brands like Rolex, etc.
But do I care? Not really. I just f-ing love it.

On the other hands, I buy a Rolex, enjoy 3-4 years and trade-in for some other Rolex watch. They hold value so well. Esp. you find a great condition used one, you will lose almost nothing when you trade in a few years later.

So ask yourself, which watch you like and would like to consider some sort of investment or just for the heck of fun and love (like our M5s).

I'm second in line for a GT3 that's coming to my local dealer at the end of the month. I'm pretty sure I'm going to end up with it

Any 991 GT3 advice for a new owner?

My pick for today, Tag Carrera- good car guy's watch under 5k (but again, worth only 1.5-2.5k max when I sell it because it's Tag Heuer).

Is there a online source for used Rolex or Breitling watches other than eBay, etc?

Breitling has their own forum but I found ebay to be the best source if you want one fast and to your liking -
