Newbie Question-

Does the whine from the engine/exhaust equal the "drone" in your guys terms?

If so, I assume to get rid of it is a new exhaust?

Are you talking about the stock exhaust? There is no drone with the stock exhaust.

With the stock exhaust the only whine you may hear comes from the Active M Differential. You really can't even hear the turbos with the stock exhaust and stock Downpipes, it is so muffled. Trust me, with the windows up in the F10 and a stock exhaust, it is as quiet as a 7-Series.

It's difficult to know what you are hearing 3951, but I do hear my turbos (barely) if conditions are right.

When V12 coded my active sound off, it seemed to have significantly reduced the drone I was noticing. Not sure if it is the same noise you are referring to.

Thanks guys- it's more of a whine, so as some folks have stated, perhaps it's the turbos spooling up on acceleration.

700 miles put down in 2 weeks. 500 to go till break-in service done. Then some light mods and WOT.

It's the turbos. I know exactly what you're talking about. Almost has the same musical note as a supercharger but much quieter.
