I did the same thing with the shifts except I added a third in the middle

My radar head was mounted behind the kidney but on the bottom.

LCD was placed inside the rear view mirror.

Controller was placed to the left of the stop/start button under the wood trim on the plastic.

You guys need to search the radar forum! Your placements for the laser heads won't do it. I think your "radar" head is fine and I've placed my radar head unobstructed as well as behind the kidneys with little difference. The sharpies will tell you that the radar head shouldn't be behind the kidneys but I think they are good there. The laser heads should be in the kidneys close to the headlights as possible and verticle depending on vendor. The heads as you've placed them won't protect shots at headlights which is where the dorks aim for laser measure.

And btw, recessed or not, where you have them they can't "feel"/detect the laser shot since they are too far away. So you'll need to move them closer

The radar placement behind the grille is not the best place due to the grills.

As for he lasers, I don't disagree with you but there aren't many places to put it. I went three heads and went through several tests with the local guys with guns and it jammed every time. Ive had 0 tickets in the last 4 years and each time the officer said they couldn't catch my speed.

They need to come out to be effective.

Ok cool. If you tested them, your good. And I agree that there isn't many choices for placement. Most cars have this issue.

Any pictures of the radar sensor placement while bumber was off? That's the best place to put it.

If no picture? Can you point to wear it's placed? I know there is very little space there.

You could probably use this picture to point out the location.

The installer actually used my mirror and installed the LCD in it.

I know ... I had the same setup. Cartoys charged me$350 to take my mirror apart and install the display in the bottom right corner.

Radar-mirror are the guys that started the trend and can do it by shipping the mirror to them and they ship back. I believe they charge $400-$499
