Is it required to have a PC to code? Can this be done from a Macbook?

bro, computer and cable are required, you can use a macbook on virtual pc or something like that....the DIY explains everything though, like he said.

Thanks bros. I'm trying to code my M5 navigation to direct me to the correct destinations.

The comment was half sarcastic. But basically the NAV in the F10 M5 sucks. It takes you to the wrong places. It has happened to me personally and others on more than one occasion. I am not sure what the issue is.

I have not heard of any issue, but if you experienced it, then it is an issue.

But, that is dependent on your location. The map data for your location could be poor but for others it could work perfectly.

I would suggest that you keep an eye out for any iDrive and GPS updates. Normally BMW updates their maps with DVD discs.. however iDrive updates are now made available via online software update (download to USB and stick USB into car port). So look into both and hopefully the GPS data for your location will be improved.

Yeah it's not all the time but it seems about 2 out of 10 locations I'm even off by some distance. I know with all the construction around it's hard for an annual software to be totally accurate, but fixed business locations should be good I would have thought. I have had the german maps installed (not the usb) and US maps. The german maps were spot on for the most part during my driving.
