Active 8 module

Anyone running the Active Autowerk 8 module? Any comparison to stage 1 BMS or JB4?

TrevorM3 is running this module.

My understanding is he's very happy with it; I'm sure he'll chime in.

can't say enough about it. On the car for about 3k miles, 0 issues of any sort. With multiple pulls back to back.

All the jb4 m5's I've ran against, have lost. except one running meth.

if true, I do look forward to your input on it. You don't need to follow the status quo of the forum.

I see it's comparable to the Dinan piggy at 1/3 the price with very good R&D. Probably more power than the Dinan also.

AA hell of a piggy. Only drawback is that it doesn't remove CEL with cat less DP's

Just had it installed yesterday and it definitely pulls harder. MDM in fastest setting feels great, even D3and sport plus pulls hard. Weird thing fuel consumption went down a little 😂

I haven't experienced those piggy's as I went with Active 8, but from the posts above I'm glad I went with it.

Sounds solid, I wish I would tried it, but as Trevor said I went with the status quo JB4. I have to say it has been a nice piggy, just lacks consistency and throws dmal's every now and then. I really liked the logging features, but now that bootmod3 is on I will probably sell JB4 or use it for meth (although there are other standalone meth kits that are just as good or better). Logging with bootmod3 is even better, too. Map 2 on JB4 is beast mode, but non-comp lacks fueling so we can't use it too often (need backend flash or meth). Anyway, even a flash on 22 psi will outrun a JB4/BCM on 22psi (eddybro and I proved this **in Mexico**).

What psi is AA running? +5 additive?

That's most of the reason why I went with Active as i haven't heard of any issues with codes from them as the JB's. AA's website doesnt say the boost psi only roughly 50whp and 80 lbs torque. Butt dyno you can definitely feel the increase in torque!

On the JB4 if its not smooth and fully consistent then something must be set wrong. Just post a log to n54tech for tuning advice. The AA8 tune is like the BMS Stage1. Analog only. No CANbus or related functions/features/logic.

Wish I had time to do a before and after dyno session. Only a Dinan exhaust, k&n filter and charcoal delete
