Does using launch control wear out the clutch?
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com Is this true? Not that I will use LC every day, but does it really damage the clutch in the long run?

Launching in any car will wear out the clutch, period. I'm fairly sure the F10 modulates clutch slip during launch, which will put wear on the clutch faster. Now if you only use it once in a while under warranty, I don't think you'll have any problems. The drivetrain is pretty robust, just don't use it at every stop light lol. (I don't even think you can do that, clutch temps will be through the roof and the car won't let you)

When you use launch control, it drops the clutch at high RPM's and then feathers the clutch for optimal wheel spin. Both of which isn't great for the clutch.
I used to use LC about once or twice a month in my E60 M5 and my clutch started to slip at around 40,000mi. That was with an SMG paired with a V10. So.. just don't abuse the feature. Use it once in a while and your fine. I never used it much in previous M5's, but I have a feeling I will use it much more because you can no longer mash the throttle in the F10 M5. Which sucks.

Just modulate the throttle, and you'll be faster than LC anyway.
