M5 Front lip spoiler ideas

Ok fellow enthusiasts, I am seriously considering a front lip spoiler for my M5 but I am at a loss right now. I don't want to spend a ton of money, so the European brands with the alphabet names are out of the question. I know there is a gallery on here also but does anyone have any advice or recommendations? Also does anyone have any good or horror stories such as installation problems, cracking, painting, falling off etc, that may/may not sway me to stay with the factory look.. Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks again.

Don't spend too much especially if lowered; I'm on my 2nd lip and they take a beating (driveways, road debris, speed bumps, my wife etc.). I bought mine on eBay and paid very little. I did spend some money on a Rear Center Diffuser (M-Performance) as they're less susceptible to damage. Good Luck

I went RW Carbon along with MCarsFan and we had great fitments and quality.

I do know though that some people have had fitment issues so it could be a hit or miss. Good thing is the customer service with them and that they would take care of it. You'll run into the same issue with ebay too but you'll lack on the customer service.

eBay has some cheap ones. Even Amazon carries some of the Chinese knock off ones.

That's one item I would go cheap. Wife has no idea how to judge distance between car and curb. lol

13M5F10, love your car.

I am looking at getting a front lip too and like the RW Carbon products for price and fit. I am between getting just the center front lip or the full front lip that you have. Since your lip covers existing body work, do you sense that it may be scratching your paint if you remove it later?

Now I don't feel so bad buying one of the cheap knock off ones. Figured it wouldn't matter much, especially on the front where it's bound to get damaged.

RKP still lips can be had on Ebay for under $300.00. Like Trevor said not perfect but works and rest assured it will take a beating; I'm my 2nd already.

Good Luck!

Any install tips for the RKP or similar lip? The tiny 3M tape they send seems like a joke. Seems like it would just fall onto the freeway? Any tips would be appreciated

I had mine installed with screws and tape; it's held up fine.

Get 3M VHB tape on Amazon. You can get varying thickness and it holds incredibly well, unlike the cheap stuff they put on these things, or what you can buy at AutoZone.

This is the one I use, so far after a few months and being dropped a few inches I haven't had to replace it. Ive definitely hit it a couple times but havent cracked it. And if i need to, its cheap.

Seems so crazy that Walmart has stuff for our cars now. They have quite a few different things. I didn't finish looking, but there was at least 3 pages of items.

It's their "marketplace" where vendors can sell things through the Walmart site. You'll notice the actual vendor/seller is "Ikon Motorsports".

Walmart has been trying to compete with Amazon a lot recently. Starting to offer free 2-day shipping, opening their Walmart.com site to 3rd party sellers, etc, etc.
