Does anybody on here run their m5's with e85?
If so, what are the pro's and cons? What map do you run? How much e85 do you add per tank? What supporting mods are absolutely required? I keep reading about people running it on the n/s55's but haven't really heard anybody running it in the n/s63's. |

You can run up to 25-30% e85 without modifications. Which is 3-5 gallons on a full tank of 91+.
On a side note, you should monitor your fuel trims to make sure they are safe.

Dumb question, you need meth and full tune to properly run E85? Or can you do JB4+BCM with meth and run. E85?

I run ~3 gallons/tank of 91, even before I got my tune.

I consistently ran about 3 gallons of e85 with a full tank of 93. FBO M5 with flash tune.

You can probably start with a very low mix, datalog check your fuel trims and adjust as needed

it maxed my fuel trims, def don't recommend without a tune, the but dyno can be very deceptive snd i suggest not doing anything without monitoring logs

It maxed my trims as well, which in turn I've bumped up my FOL to 80 on my JB4 but I still won't run it anymore until I'm either running meth at the same time and/or we get an E85 pump flash like the N54 guys have.

Terry with BMS recommends that you pair the JB4 with a backend flash to make the necessary adjustments needed to support the JB4 and make the most efficient power.

i think it maxes the the trims on the vast majority of non competition pkg cars, the owners all think it "feels" faster but i think its dangerous. If you want more octane mix a little race gas or use octane booster, at least that won't max the trims.

Yep, a lean mxer may give the best power BUT is very dangerous, miss fires and detenations will melt the pistons or break the ring land

If pre-LCI you will starve the engine of fuel with too much e85... You would need a tune or meth. LCI models have slightly improved fuel management but it's still better to have a tune.
