M5 Traction

I have a 2014 M5 with competition package, and I am having traction issues with the car.

I have noticed that the wheels spin more often during takeoff and other times. (I am usually careful with the accelerator). The slipperiness is likely attributable to the slightly colder weather in socal and the wear on the tires.

But it certainly is hard to put the power down. Don't get me wrong, I love the car and the overall drive. But, frankly, I am looking forward to the next generation M5 with four wheel drive. It's time.

Thoughts?

Welcome to the club
You need this type of tire for better traction:

Is your car stock?
I don't have any real traction issues, I don't have a tune though. Just bolt ons.

I have Mild traction issues but nothing crazy.
Car only has 2500 miles though so tires are basically new.

I had real issues but had the car lowered on ACS springs and 12mm spacers all round and it improved dramatically they also benefit from a regular KDS, but with 560HP+ and RWD you can only expect so much.

For my roll runs on MDM or DSC I have no traction issues. Warm or hot weather that is.

Lol @ getting colder in Socal.....try traction in sub zero temps or even ...........................snow

Drive for a mile or two so you can get the tires a little warmer before getting into the "go" pedal.

It is a fact that the car cannot put its power down under full throttle in the UK. It has to be hot and dry to even have a chance.

Unfortunately those tires cannot be used in the rain.

Learn modulating your throttle and you'll have no problem getting 90% of the power down to the wheels/road and it takes time may be a year of ownership before it's really subdued but trust me the beast can be tamed !!

I drive 305 M PSC2 all year around with 700+hp

no issues, even though it rains a lot down here and those tires not suppose to grip in wet

just need to learn how to put power down, like others said above

Allmotor ran the record on MT 305/35-19 tires, the taller 35 profile helps for sure....

Do you run 305 on stock rims? Or you have changed it to 10.5 rims?
