No "Backrest Width" on mine.
No "High Beam Assistant" (M guys at 'European M5 Launch' were surprised with this)
No "TPM with actual tire pressure readout and temperature" - while i couldn't find this in the manual, i was under impression it would be on car - M guys were surprised at that as well.

Let me know if you get anywhere - i'm most disappointed with HBA and TPM (as i have had backrest width before)

So far I have 15 M5's with no buttons. I'm going to go ahead and say that no 2013 M5 models including regular 2013 5-Series 528i, 535i, and 550i BMW's, from what I have heard, have the "Backrest Width" adjustment buttons. I will be contacting BMW NA customer relations again this afternoon. Thanks guys!

Keep in mind that the regular 5ers were never advertised as having backrest width adjustment. It's only the M5 that had it listed as a standard feature.

Which makes it all the more misleading that we didn't get the feature.

Better read the fine print which would have some legalese stating "they reserve the right to change specifications without notice blah blah blah...."

It actually doesn't say that anywhere on the website. What is more, I doubt that such a reservation would save them where they had already delivered cars with that feature to every other country on Earth except for the U.S. and Canada.

In any event, nobody is talking about suing BMW yet, we are talking about pressuring them to to do right by their U.S. customers who have each spent approximately $100k on their cars.

I need a head count of the people who do not have the "Backrest Width" or otherwise known as the "Sidebolster" adjustments buttons on their new 2013 F10 M5's.

Today I have contacted BMW North America customer relations and got the ball rolling about this issue and brought it to their attention. The representative on the phone could not find the answer for me and said that they would provide the feedback to their supervisors or whomever.

I only told them that I am looking for a straight answer from BMW as to why this feature was not included in our 2013 M5's when it was included in the 2012 model year.

Additionally I have heard rumors that BMW plans on having the buttons in the 2014 model year and also something called the "Dynamic Sidebolster Adjustment" feature. But this is only speculation.

The manual that comes with my 2013 M5 clearly states that a "Backrest Width" adjustment button should be on our seats. The Quick Reference Guide that also comes with our manual show the buttons being there too. The BMWUSA website, says 18-Way adjustable seat. I have counted over again, that with the missing buttons, it should be 20 buttons. I miscounted the first few times. Yet, they include these buttons in the manuals, which would imply a 20 way seat. Doesn't make sense.

I told the representative that I would be calling BMW North America customer relations every day if I have to in order to get a straight answer from them. I asked that if I could be contacted by a marketing representative or even an engineer who knew the answer.

So far as I know, I believe that all of the 2013 Model Year M5's did not come with them, so I am looking for a little validation. If it is the case that only a few production numbers have the buttons missing, or even if it's the case that we are all missing the buttons, then we should at least be entitled to an answer from BMW for paying for something which should have been included with the car that we did not recieve.

So far the feedback that I have recieved from BMW is that the 18-Way seats are what's supposed to be on the car, yet I found out that at some point this year BMW changed it from 20-Way seats to 18-Way seats on the BMWUSA.com website without informing any dealer or customer as far as we know. Additionally, I have found out that no 5-Series with the exception of the 5-Series GT will get the 20-Way seats that include the "Backrest Width" adjustment buttons.

Honestly, I'm not looking for any type of compensation as I am very happy with the car, but I would at least like an explanation as to why we did not get these buttons. The point is that we were all expecting this to be on the car standard and now we are all surprised to discover that it is not there.

Thank you and please chime in so I may inform BMW about this.

Also please don't flame me. I'm not complaining in any way. I'm only trying to find the truth for something that is supposed to be in M5 and is not or at least something that BMW should have informed the customers and dealers about. Thanks!
count me in, i'm in the same boat as you. i have a 2013 model and missing the above. I'm in Canada.

I really think BMW should either replace 2 front seats or give us something else like free ceramic brake upgrades. I ordered my car in May and it clearly said 20 adjustable seat functions.

Guys I've done a bit more research today and I found out that in order to get the "Backrest Width" adjustment buttons we would have to pay an extra $17,000 dollars. The option for the 2 extra buttons is in a special package called the 2013 BMW M6! LOL! No, just kidding!

But seriously, I found that the seats in the 2013 F12 and F13 M6 come with the side bolster buttons but not the M5 for the same model year. Now this really doesn't make any sense. I guess the M5 isn't sporty enough to warrant BMW putting them on the car (sarcasm).

Ok, I will try and contact BMW NA Customer Relations as soon as I get home today. Should be interesting!

Stay tuned...

What I meant to say is yes its included in the seats I ordered (executive package). This will be real interesting come delivery time as I have included the Sales Manager and he has pulled up records and confirmed with BMW Canada. Something is really off ..

I don't have them either. And I have both screenshots and ordering guide PDF which say that my car should have had 20 way seats. So one could make a case that they didn't deliver what we paid for.
