M5 shoppingshopping

I went to a local dealer to check out an M5. Luckily they had one. It was black. Not my choice of color but still stunning. It looks amazing! The interior is perfect. It does not feel as big as people make it out to be and that's a good thing.

But I was disappointed to find that the dealer had no examples of the leather options. How should I work out picking out my color? I like them all.

Black and Silverstone are available on the previous gen cars and the M3. Sakhir is new but also on M6.

So you should be able to see the black and Silverstone on other models.

Call dealers in your area and see if anyone has any cars with these leathers.

Perhaps our color / interior photo threads can help you with color/interior selection:

Sweet. Thanks. They made it sound like m5 leathers are exclusive. I'm gonna make a few calls.

Thanks. It has been a great resource but I really wanted to see it in person. I never gave the orange leather a chance till I saw it in a picture of a frozen monte carlo blue and now I think I'm sold. They call it the superman!

To help you out (and because its a holiday and I have time on my hands), I dug up some pics that I think have good color accuracy having seen these leathers myself.

The reason most pics are misleading is because they accentuate the brightness, so the Sakhir Orange leather looks very bright and red whereas it is less bright and more orange. Likewise the Silverstone often looks too white and is actually a bit more gray (a paler version of Mercedes Ash leather).

Sakhir Orange

Silverstone

Sakhir is an excellent choice for an interior. I am glad I selected it on mine

I didn't post the black, but if you go look at a 7 series with Black Nappa leather. It is very similar to that only the leather is slightly softer, but the color is the same.

On BMWUSA builder it shows a different layout of leather around the shifter. Is this 100% the layout?

The pic stealth posted is from a 6 series. The pic you posted is an M5 with Full Sakhir. Extended Sakhir will have less orange areas on the doors and dash I believe.

Sakhir Orange FTW! IMHO definitely add the piano black trim if you go full.

I thought the aluminum would look good with the B&O system. No?
