This was the Disneyland (world) castle I was referring to. It is on the way South so a drive by may be in order. With a bit of luck we'll have to go a bit our of our way

Neuschwanstein Castle is in Schwangau, less than 80 miles southwest of Munich.

Wow. Crazy about the nurburgring. A local track went through bankruptcy and came out after a restructuring. Purportedly doing good. Wish them luck.

Gas prices is something I am not concerned with. If I was, I would not have chosen the M5!

I have detailed my trip and expect to do around 2,000 miles. At 20mpg average, total gallons I expect to use would total to around 100 gallons. At approximately $7.00 per gallon that would only cost me $700 -- way below $1K. I have already allocated $2K for gas and tolls (road tolls in Europe cost more) but it looks like I will wind up ahead and get some leftover money from what I have allocated.

Hey guys - my Platinum Concierge at Starwood suggested this fantastic resort outside of Salzburg which could be a good place to spend a couple of nights. it is close to both Salzburg and Berchtesgaden. Ample parking too.

Yup been there a couple of times.
It's a beautiful area and lots of stuff see and explore.
Not too far from Grossglockner either

Also Goldener Hirsch in Salzburg is nice (another Starwood property) .

I am open to suggestions. Hopefully some where with a nice atmosphere. Also hoping weather is nice. Weather.com says average hi's are low 70's and low's are 50's

I am doing a bit of research to see what our options are considering all the variables. Open to suggestions too.
Since we're going to have just gotten our cars, the ideal place would be somewhere where we could park our cars together and eat where we can see and talk about our drive down there. For most this will be the first time you drive the beast.
