Official M5/M6 600hp tune?

Hi guys,

I remember reading a thread on here about an official 600 horsepower tune that could possibly be offered by BMW (something like it was appearing in ASAP for the M6, but not the M5 yet - or something like that) - but I can't find it again

Could anyone please link me to it again? I've tried searching for it for a solid half an hour using the search tool, and i still cant find it

It is possible for all M5 M6 newer than 2014/07, those running MEVD17.2.H ECUs and EWG turbos!

The upgrade from what I've read is $1k. Save your money and get a flash tune. M5's are way underrated from the factory, I doubt you'd be able notice a discernible difference over stock.

only from July 2014? Is it to do with the electronic wastegate? (i.e. the same reason as to why we don't have hp and torque on the iDrive screen on pre-2015MY cars)

Get a tune. Or at minimum, get JB4 + BCM. You'll make way more than 600 hp

Why won't it work on a 2014 cp built prior to 7/14 ?

Because the software was made for vehicles that have the electronic wastegate only.

+ 1 Reading this thread is disapointing. I have no idea why anyone would want to limit themselves to 600hp when a basic stage I tune will give you significantly more on a stock car.

I'd love a tune as soon as it becomes available without removing the ecu

That's probably not going to happen. The warranty issue is honestly not as big an issue as a lot of forum members have been lead to believe because basic remaps aren't too dangerous.

I am also using this 600HP software purchased from BMW (prior to my 2015 575CP M6 DCT).
It needs FSC code for the software, should activate the codes (which deactivates the old factory FSC related to old 575HP software) and software upgrade.

When we installed first and tried the car with this Power Enhancement Kit, at full throttle the car was retarded from 6.200 rpm up to rpm limit. I was not happy as the car felt "terrible". A few months later we updated the car including the ECU and voala, the car feels strong up to rpm limit (except the decreasing boost/tourqe by the end of the rpm to protect drivetrain under gear change). Looks like BMW sorted out this retard bug.

Altogether i am happy with this software, however this is not the best HP/Price value.

I can't have it anyway. Of course the dealer suggested trading the car in for a newer on but my car is a 14 with less than 6000 miles

You can run this software without an FSC, but it would have to be done by a tuner. For instance, I can run the comp pack software on an m5, or the comp pack or GTS software on an M3, but I modify the code so it thinks it's running the base file, negating the need for the FSC. Now when you load this software directly without the FSC, it will completely deactivate the turbo(s)... I can tell you that the m5 and m3 running NA is absolutely no fun!

Thanks for sharing your experience! I couldn't agree more that it's not worth going this particular route.

+1 on this one.
You won't even be able to get an FSC code from BMW anyway. Impossible, some say they can but, impossible if you ask me.
You can just flash the swfl for cars with same software number/version. Must match Done this, but I like to tune it, the CP or whatever is OK but nothing compared to a real tune !
